Vote for America's Favorite Farmers Market my vote counts
This summer, eaters across the United States will cast their vote for America's Favorite Farmers Market! It's a tough pick for MFM as we have seven favorite farmers markets, so we'll have to leave it up to you, our loyal customers, to decide. Starting June 1st, visit www.farmland.org/vote to cast your vote and put your favorite MFM farmers markets on the map! The polls will close at the end of July, just in time to announce America's pick during National Farmers Market Week. Thank you for your vote!
Fresh and AffordablePrice Comparison Table
Many skeptics say that farmers markets are "too expensive" and are out of reach for people on a budget. We've long disagreed and now we have the numbers to prove it. MFM compared the prices of organic and conventional produce at our Thursday Civic Center Farmers Market to the prices at our neighborhood Whole Foods and Safeway. We're proud to say that the Civic Center Farmers Market's average price on 14 staple fruits and vegetables beat Whole Foods (by 79 cents) and Safeway (by 64 cents). To see the full report and to learn more about how to use Food Stamps and WIC at the Marin Farmers Markets please visit our new affordability page. May fresh and local food be enjoyed by all.
Chef DemonstrationKatie Powers
Join us Sunday, June 7th at the Marin Civic Center Farmers Market for a chef demonstration by Katie Powers, executive chef and owner of Katie Powers Catering based at the Headlands Center for the Arts in Sausalito.

At 9am, meet Katie at the Eat Local 101 Booth for a walking tour of the Sunday Civic Center Farmers Market. She will share a favorite recipe highlighting what's in season and then take the group to visit a handful of the farmers who are growing the ingredients her recipe calls for. At 10am (and again at 11am), join Katie and Annabelle Lenderink of Star Route Farms for a chef demonstration.
