"...We are a family again and she has grown into a lovely, caring young lady. But most of all, she is a pleasure to be with and we are sharing our love and finally having fun together. In other words, our dream has come true in the way of a miracle. I would like to thank God, along with all of the supporters of the Children's Home and all the dedicated staff who worked with our daughter and gave us that precious thing called family."

Our choir and sacred dance team performed at the Laity Session of the Florida Annual Conference in Lakeland, Florida.
Rev. Denny McCullough and Rev. Bess Bussey have officially left the ministry of the Children's Home. We wish them well as God leads them in the next chapter of their lives. Bess will be enjoying retirement and Denny has been appointed the pastor at Mims United Methodist Church. In the picture Dr. Wayne Wiatt, DS of the East District (center), recognized Denny and Bess at the June Board of Trustee meeting.

The September Fifth Sunday Offering bulletin insert and promotional materials will highlight the Madison Youth Ranch and seek support for this vital expansion of our ministry. We are asking that people prayerfully consider an additional offering to support this new endeavor. We still need the important regular Fifth Sunday Offering support. This insert and poster will be the first introduction to the Madison Youth Ranch for most congregations. We know enthusiasm will continue to build for this exciting and much needed project. RECENT HAPPENINGS

First Lady of Florida, Ann Scott, speaking to our residents. Mike Galloway, Children's Home President, stands with her. |
The First Lady of Florida recently visited the Children's Home. Ann Scott, wife of Florida Governor Rick Scott, toured the campus, read a story to our residents and answered some of their questions. Two of her main interests are literacy and foster care. We are grateful she was able to take time out of her busy schedule to visit the Children's Home.
Mike Galloway, the Children's Home President, accepts a check from Joyce Cooper, Board of Trustee member and member of New Horizon United Methodist Church in Southwest Ranches, Florida. Their 26th Annual New Horizon Golf Classic and Silent Auction Luncheon raised $44,333.25 for the ministry of the Children's Home. We deeply appreciate the efforts of this church and others who make this such a successful event each year.
The puppet ministry from Van Dyke United Methodist Church in Tampa, Florida recently entertained and inspired our residents. Thank you for coming.
The youth choir from Frazier Memorial UMC in Montgomery, Alabama performed for our residents. They also did numerous crafts with our boys and girls. Your presence was appreciated. |
