Ways of Giving
"Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work."
2 Corinthians 9:7-8 NRSV
Every gift you make provides care and hope to a child in need. You are the healing hands and voice of Jesus to all the young people at the Florida United Methodist Children's Home.
There are many ways that you can give to help this ministry fulfill its mission. Please consider the following:
Fifth Sunday and Christmas Offerings
The historic Fifth Sunday Offering is a vital resource for the Children's Home to meet its day-to-day operations. First and foremost, please allow your congregation the opportunity to give on the Fifth Sunday and at Christmas time. We will provide bulletin inserts and pew envelopes at your request.
General Contributions
Individual giving that is received throughout the year is important and provides for the ongoing work of caring for the children and youth who come into our ministry. All individual gifts are credited to a local church's goal of giving total, if the donor identifies a church.
In-Kind Donations
Many people, groups and organizations provide material donations to us. These include such as items as school supplies, bed linens and towels, clothing and other such items.
Honor Gifts
This gift will mark any special occasion - a birth, anniversary, retirement, birthday, or simply be a way to recognize a special person in your life. An appropriate message indicating your contribution is sent to the person being honored.
Memorial Gifts
There is no better way to provide a memorial to a relative or friend than through a gift to the Home, whose care touches the lives of many hurting children. Families of the person designated by the donor are notified of the memorial.
Bequests and Trusts
Bequests or trusts may be arranged in a variety of ways that fit with the donor's own estate plan and/or wishes for the gift's use. Many forms of bequests or charitable trusts, restricted or unrestricted are available.
For questions or information about any of the items listed above, please contact our Development Office for assistance.
