THANK YOU!
On April 16, a Legacy Circle luncheon was held in Hardin Hall. The Legacy Circle is a program established to recognize those donors whose have remembered the Children's Home in their will or other estate plan or planned gift. These wonderful people know that they are leaving a lasting "legacy" in support of our mission and ministry. If you would like information on The Legacy Circle, please contact Mr. Mike Cummins, Director of Family Philanthropy at (386) 668-4774.

We continue to welcome mission work teams from local United Methodist Churches. Recently a team from MacClenny UMC did much needed work around campus.
Summer Quest 2011
The summer months offer a unique opportunity to provide our young people with an array of learning experiences. Summer Quest is a comprehensive program that involves the entire campus to help children learn fun, new activities while gaining self-awareness. We hope each resident will discover hidden talents and be challenged to stretch beyond what they think they can accomplish.
Some of the activities include Sports, Pottery, Arts/Crafts, Education Enrichment, Computer Skills, Writing, Campus Service, Spiritual Development, Cooking, Fitness, Wood Shop, Scrapbooking and much more. We are excited about the coming summer and hope that each resident will experience a summer to remember.

MAY
National Foster Care Month
May is National Foster Care Month. This is an opportunity for us to recognize all of the wonderful foster parents who open their homes and hearts to children whose families are in crisis. Many foster families adopt the children in their homes when family reunification is not possible, therefore offering permanency and stability for these children. Foster parents leave their mark on future generations, helping to end cycles of neglect and abuse. The need for loving homes continues to grow. The Children's Home celebrated its annual Foster Parent Appreciation Day on May 7, 2011 with a a picnic, games and fun day for all our foster families and children.
If you would like information about becoming a foster or adoptive parent, please contact Shari Schneider, Director of Foster Care and Adoption Services at (386) 668-4774 or shari.schneider@fumch.org.
Our foster care offices serving Volusia & Flagler Counties, Orange & Osceola Counties and Hillsborough County are reaching out into the community to increase the number of foster families that are desperately needed to take care of children and youth in need. The staff at these locations are prepared and willing to come to your church to present a program or talk to any group in your church about foster care. For information call:
