AGC 2012 Range Badge Procedures

The 2012 AGC Annual Range Badges are now available.

This event is always the source of many questions from members and clubs concerning the policy and procedures for obtaining an AGC Range Badge.

Please read this information before you contact the AGC with any questions you may have.

NOTE: Range badges will not be issued to persons who fail to produce the required documentation. This is AGC policy - no exceptions.

AGC Inclement Weather Policy


When the Baltimore County Snow Emergency Plan is in effect, the AGC Ranges, Range Facilities are closed. All events are canceled.   

 

Snow Emergency Plan Status     

 

Local television and radio stations routinely announce the status of the Baltimore County Snow Emergency Plan.    

 

The Snow Emergency Plan status can also be found on the upper right corner of the Baltimore County Home Page http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov .

 

Range Status

 

When the Baltimore County Snow Emergency Plan is no longer in effect, check with the Range to verify that the ranges are open and operational.

I am participating (again) in the Deep Creek Dunk to benefit Special Olympics of Maryland. The Deep Creek Dunk is the lesser known of the Winter Water events held by the Special Olympics of Maryland to gather donations. As many of you know, I have been participating in both the Chesapeake Bay Plunge and the Deep Creek Dunk since the beginning of the Special Olympics of Maryland started the Winter Water Events.

2012 M1 Garand "As Issued" Clinic

 

Baltimore County Game & Fish Rifle Team

 

MATCH DATE(S): Baltimore County's High Power Rifle Team will be holding a M1 Garand Rifle Clinic. Clinic is held rain or shine.

RULES: CMP Competition Rules 15th Edition 2011.

*3.1.5 As Issued M-1 Garand - U.S. Rifle, caliber .30 M-1 (.30-06), as issued by the U. S. Armed Forces or the same type and caliber of commercially manufactured rifle, having not less than a 4 � pound trigger, pull, with standard stock and leather or web sling. Rifles in the "as issued" class must conform to the weight and dimensions of the standard CMP issue M-1 Garand, and only U.S. Government issue parts, or commercial parts of the exact same material, weight, and dimensions, may be used. Rifles may be accurized only to the extent possible by careful assembly of standard parts. No other modification or alteration of the "as issued" rifle is permitted. Match officials are encouraged to disallow participation in the As Issued M-1 Garand Class of any rifle not complying with the spirit of the rules, which is competition between competitors firing equal equipment. Only .30-06 ammunition will be used and supplied by the club.

 

RIFLE: There are rifles available for students who do not own an M1 Garand.

 

AMMUNITION:  All shooters are required to purchase ammunition from the club. Ammunitions prices may vary do to the availability of ammunition from the CMP.

 

SQUADDING:    Clinic starts promptly at 8:00 am. Clinic registration starts at 7:00 am.

 

STUDENTS:      This clinic is open to the public, club members and their friends, NRA membership is encouraged.

 

CLASSIFICATION OF COMPETITORS:             See rule 3.1.5 above.

 

ENTRY FEE: $85.00 - Baltimore County Club Members and $95.00 - Non-Club Members entry fee for clinic. (Ammunition 68, loose rounds and 2-empty clips for a total of 68 rounds, pizza lunch including sodas, CMP documentation, chamber flag, CD-of nice to know stuff about High Power Shooting.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION: Plan to arrive by 7:00 AM for clinic registration. Also, bring your own spotting scope, heavy sweatshirt and ground cloth/mat. Coaches will have equipment available for loan. Food and drinks are supplied during the clinic.

 

CLINIC COURSE: The course of fire includes 50 shots. All firing is done at a distance of 100 yards.

Stage 1 - 10 shots slow-fire standing, single feed, SR1 target, in 10 minutes, with 2-sighting shots.

Stage 2 - 10 shots rapid-fire, sitting, SR1 target, with a clip change in 60 seconds, with 2-sighting shots.

Stage 3 - 10 shots rapid-fire, prone, SR21 target, with a clip change in 70 seconds, with 2-sighting shots.

Stage 4 - 20 shots slow-fire prone, single feed, MR31 target, in 20 minutes, with 2-sighting shots.

 

Aggregate of the four stages (50 shots) will determine the winner.

20 minutes for 10 sight-in shots at the beginning of the match from the prone position.

 

DIRECTIONS TO RANGE: Interstate 695 to Harford road heading north. On Harford road MD state route 147 north approximately 1.5 miles to Northwind road. Make a right on Northwind Road approximately .6 miles look for the club logo on the left. Make a left into the driveway and proceed to the club house. Our club house is the long white building.
