AGC 2012 Range Badge Procedures

The 2012 AGC Annual Range Badges are now available.

This event is always the source of many questions from members and clubs concerning the policy and procedures for obtaining an AGC Range Badge.

Click here for complete information:  AGC 2012 Range Badge Policy

Please read this information before you contact the AGC with any questions you may have.

NOTE: Range badges will not be issued to persons who fail to produce the required documentation. This is AGC policy - no exceptions.
Installation of New AGC Officers for 2012

The following officers were elected during the October Meeting of the AGC Trustees to serve on the AGC Executive Committee for 2012:

  • President: Del Cockey
  • Vice President: Ken Brown
  • Executive Vice President: Bryant Cramer
  • Legislative Vice President: John H. Josselyn
  • Secretary: Tom D'Asto
  • Treasurer: Gordon Nahas
The formal installation of officers will take place on January 10, 2012.
AGC Legislative Email System Report

During 2011, a total of 1,191 shooters joined the AGC Legislative Email network. Of that total, 230 are AGC club members, 767 joined through the AGC membership inquiry system, and 194 joined using the link on the AGC website.

The effectiveness of the AGC Email system is directly related to the number of club members who have joined the system. The top 3 AGC clubs are:
  • Baltimore County Game & Fish Protective Association
  • Homewood Rifle & Pistol Club
  • Maryland Rifle Club

The AGC email system is especially important to members of the AGC clubs which have meetings infrequently and/or do not publish a monthly club newsletter to keep their members informed.

The AGC Newsletter is distributed to AGC members and to those who have joined the AGC Legislative Email system and opted-in to the AGC Newsletter list. The current Newsletter distribution list has 2,071 subscribers.

Unfortunately, many of those members who have joined an AGC club via the AGC membership inquiry system never receive the AGC Newsletter because for several reasons:

  • they have not notified us that they joined an AGC club or,
  • the club they joined never notified us that a person on the membership inquiry system joined their club
  • they did not opt-in to the Newsletter list when they submitted their membership inquiry
AGC 2011 Membership Inquiry Statistics

During 2011 we processed and distributed 905 membership inquiries to the clubs participating in the AGC membership system. This is a voluntary system and at present, only 13 of the AGC's 29 member clubs are taking advantage of this service.

Due to a lack of information from the clubs, we are unable to provide accurate data on how many persons who inquired about membership actually joined an AGC club.
