HB 343 - Public Safety - Handgun Permits - Repeal of Finding Requirements
A bill to remove the requirement for a "good and substantial reason" needed for permit to carry a concealed handgun.
OPPOSE:
HB 252 - Crimes - Possession of Loaded Handgun or Regulated Firearm - Enhanced Penalties
Establishes a felony offense with a mandatory 18 month minimum sentence, courts will have no probation before verdict option, no probation after verdict option and no possibility of parole for the mere possession of a loaded handgun or regulated firearm.
HB 330 - Firearms - Detachable Magazines - Maximum Capacity for Ammunition Limits the maximum allowable magazine capacity to 10 rounds. Makes it illegal to manufacture, sell, offer for sale, purchase, receive, or transfer magazines over 10 rounds.
HB 519 - Firearms - Knowing Violation of Specified Prohibitions - Penalty
This bill will make it a crime to know that you are committing a crime.
HB 705 - Crimes - Pawn Shop Sales of Firearms - Prohibition Prohibits pawn shops licensed to deal in firearms from dealing in firearms just because the business is a pawn shop. Withdrawn by sponsor
HB 730 - Public Safety - Regulated Firearms - Mental Disorder
Designates the latest edition of the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual - Mental Disorders" published by the American Psychiatric Association as the final, but totally unregulated authority for determining which mental conditions will prohibit a person from purchasing a firearm. Unlike existing law, no period of court ordered confinement is necessary - simply being treated for a specified condition will be cause for prohibiting ownership of a firearm. While not totally clear, it is possible that seeking treatment could result in the confiscation of the person's firearms.
HB 803 - Criminal Law - Possession of a Handgun - Institutions of Higher Education and Hospitals
Bans the possession of handguns on all public higher education & hospital property, including property which is not marked as a being higher education hospital property

HB 1043 - Regulated Firearms - Applications for Dealer's License - Record Keeping and Reporting Requirements
Expands the authority of the MSP to inspect dealer records, creates additional paperwork for dealer and ultimately a registration database of all firearms sold by the dealer when the business closes and records are transferred to the MSP
