"We have a home this Thanksgiving"
A homeless mother and her son find hope at Vision House

Boy in red hood"Where are we going to sleep tonight, mommy?" Those words broke my heart when I had to tell my little boy that we were going to have to sleep in the car. I tried to make it sound like we were on a camping adventure, but after a few days we were both cold, tired, dirty and hungry. I was desperate and applied to a lot of housing programs. We finally got accepted into Vision House.

I'm so thankful to be at Vision House where we have a warm, safe apartment, food, clothing and loving people who are helping me get my life back on track. My son loves having his own bed to sleep in. We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Jacob's Well Update
Sitework Being Completed; Framing Next!

Jacob's Well Work Party
The foundation is poured! Volunteers enjoy lunch during a day of clearing and landscaping.

The community's efforts to raise $160,000 for the lumber to frame the Jacob's Well complex in Shoreline has been a huge success! The October event raised $63,837 and combined with other efforts, a total of $101,000 was collected. Then last week, a generous donor provided the remaining $59,000. What a miracle!

We're now working on installing the waterline, fire hydrant and sewer. Once complete, the framing can begin on the first building which will include 12 apartments for homeless families, an after school program area and counseling offices. So get your hammers and volunteer construction teams ready for framing parties this spring!

The next fundraising goal is $110,000 for roofing materials and the exterior and interior doors. Let's keep up the momentum! Hopefully we can move the first families in by the end of next year so they can have Christmas in a warm, safe home rather than on the streets or in a car.

Thank you for reaching out to help the homeless children and mothers in our care this holiday season. Your support, no matter how big or small, truly makes a difference! Please forward this e-mail to others who may be interested in how they can bless a homeless family.

God bless,Susan Camerer
