Vision House
Greetings!

The NoHomelessKids fundraising lunch on October 13th was a great success! Thanks to the 300 generous supporters who attended, contributions totaled $87,715 in cash and $35,750 in pledges, for a total of $123,465!

VolunteersThis brings us one step closer to raising the $300,000 we need by the end of the year to continue providing all of the support services to the homeless families in our care.

One of our residents shared her heart wrenching, yet hopeful, story. If you missed hearing it, you can read Brooke's story

You can also see pictures of the luncheon like the one above of some of our volunteers helping out at the event.

If you attended the NoHomelessKids lunch, will you take a moment to give us your feedback? Thank you!
Shoreline Expansion Project
Vision House Jacob's Well update
We have property and architectural plans ready to build Vision House Jacob's Well in Shoreline. However, due to the economy, some major funding resources have fallen through. But we're pushing forward because we have to.......for all the homeless kids and moms who need a safe, loving place to restore their lives and build a better future.

So how do we move forward on the Shoreline expansion project that will include 20 apartments, a child care center and counseling space for homeless families? One step at a time. We're going to approach this like when we built the first Vision House facility - like an old fashion barn raising.

We've divided the project into 47 bite size pieces. Our goal is to mobilize 47 churches, community groups, construction companies and individuals to do a small portion and to build the housing complex piece by piece. We're going to raise a little money, build a little, raise a little and build a little. And slowly but surely, this project will get built and will serve homeless families!

Donations can be designated specifically toward the Shoreline Jacob's Well project. Your dollars help keep the project moving forward to bring more kids out of homelessness and into safe homes.

Vision House Giving Trees
You can make Christmas brighter for a homeless family
Girl by treeSponsor a Vision House Giving Tree and rally your co-workers, family, friends, and church family around a great cause. Sponsoring a giving tree is easy! Here's how it works:

1. Contact Kristi Slattery at 425.228.6356 or kristis@vision-house.org and let her know you would like to sponsor a tree.

2. Kristi will arrange to have a giving tree delivered to your office or church towards the end of November.

3. People will take tags off the tree that describe a Vision House child or mom and their Christmas wish. They will then buy a gift card or give a financial gift and return it to the box under the tree.

4. Kristi will coordinate pick-up of the trees and gift cards just before Christmas.

5. Gift cards and financial support are provided to Vision House families to purchase specific items as needed and are also used throughout the year to support the children and mothers in our care.

Thanks to you and others who care about homeless children and their mothers. Your donations help provide housing, child care, counseling and coodination of services such as job training, employment and life skills training. The families at Vision House now have the opportunity to build a life of independence, self sufficiency and a bright future.

God bless,
