About Roberta Donnay...
Roberta Donnay is a jazz recording artist and award-winning singer/songwriter, who has been making music professionally since the age of 16, touring Europe with a knapsack and sleeping bag. She's worked as a performing artist for over 25 years and performed with or opened for many top artists (including Ernestine Anderson, Bob Dorough, David Grisman, John Hammond, Herbie Hancock, Dan Hicks, and others).
Rainforest Records and other labels have released 6 of her CDs; her vocals and songs have been featured in film and TV, including The Young and The Restless, The UNIT, NUMBE3RS, Nash Bridges, and others. Ms. Donnay wrote "One World", a world peace anthem for the United Nations' 50th which was adopted by schools and world peace performances around the world, and chosen as the theme for World AIDS Day in South Africa in 2003.
Roberta is featured in Scott Yanow's book "THE JAZZ SINGER" the top 521 jazz singers of all time". She currently tours with Dan Hicks & The Hot Licks, is featured on both "Crazy For Christmas" 2010 release and "Tangled Tales" 2009 release. She is also a featured vocalist and co-writer ("A Minor Thing") on Charles Davis' new CD release.
"Donnay's sweet vocals, slightly breathy and abundantly layered on this disc, serve as a pleasing medium for her solid pop song-craft." - Hj Performing Songwriter Magazine
"Roberta has a very appealing voice somewhat reminiscent tone-wise of Norah Jones. However, she is much more of a jazz singer than Jones, swinging, using subtle improvising, making some tunes quite bluesy and displaying versatility." - Scott Yanow, L.A. Jazz Scene
