SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 1, 2010 - Urban Music Presents is proud to announce "The Urban Music Showcase - The Winter 2011 Season", a brand new series of music concerts featuring the best of Roots Music: Jazz, Latin, Funk, R&B, Gospel, and Soul every Thursday beginning January 6, 2011 - March 31, 2011 at Coda Supper Club in the Mission District of San Francisco. This musical series speaks to the rich and diverse musical community that the Bay Area is so fortunate to have.
In the spirit of community, Urban Music Presents profoundly believes music brings community together, and seeks to provide access to incredible performances, as well as supporting the musicians who are highly accomplished.
Stephanie Dalton has been supporting and advocating for musicians for many years and in 2005 founded Urban Music Presents, whose primary mission is to promote and present music of the Latin and African Diaspora. To this end, Urban Music Presents seeks to build and strengthen communities of musicians and music patrons by marketing and promoting performances, educating and informing the public through her newsletter, Urban Music News, which holds a weekly distribution of 7,000 readers. Urban Music and Stephanie seeks to develop partnerships with venues and funders by creating a collaborative model in order to implement the Urban Music Presents mission. The Urban Music Presents local Bay Area community is incredibly diverse and therefore believes in providing access to music of the various cultures in this community.
Stephanie's artistic vision for the series was to reach into the full spectrum of Roots Music and believes the power of this music will lead to a stronger understanding and appreciation of one another.
Coda. Supper Club to accentuate this night of superb music is offering a cuisine that will feature a Northern Californian palliate of the freshest ingredients that are harvested locally and organically. Reservations are highly encouraged for these performances.
Audiences will experience authentic music that comes from the heart and soul. Sounds of American Jazz, Blues, FUNK - as in "on the one", R&B, spirit filled Gospel, Neo-Soul, and a broad range of Creole styles where Latin, African, European, and American styles collided. Each one of these shows delivers an incredible, memorable performance that will absolutely inspire you!
