SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 2, 2010 - The Musical Art Quintet is a group that brings classical chamber music into the 21st century. While steeped in the classical tradition, the group and its members are trained in Salsa, Tango, Jazz, and improvisation.
The core repertoire of the group consists of original compositions composed by the groups own members. We aim to transcend the notion of what chamber music can be, performing in non-traditional venues, and performing music that is truly modern and unique.
We are dedicated to performing modern string music at the highest musical level. The Quintet was formed in 2009. It's members developed their compositions and camaraderie while performing for Classical Revolution events in San Francisco.
The Musical Art Quintet's next performance will be at Coda Supper Club, Tuesday, November 23 showcasing The Art of the String Quintet, a night of Tango, Flamenco and more. Please visit www.codalive.com for more information and to purchase tickets.
