SAN FRANCISCO, May 19, 2010 -Urban
Music Presents and Coda Jazz Supper Club present "Tu Gusto Musical", a Sunday
series of music of the Latin Diaspora. This unique series was curated by
Stephanie Dalton of Urban Music Presents - a community newsletter founded in 2002
covering San Francisco's vibrant Latin music scene whose reach has since
surpassed 6,000 subscribers. Stephanie's artistic vision for the series was to
reach into the full diaspora of Latin and Creole musical styles and offer a
broad overview of the diverse musical offerings of Latin America and Spain.
Coda. Supper Club to accentuate this
night of superb music is offering a pre-fixe menu that patrons may opt
for. Beginning June 6 Coda will offer a 3-course meal and a glass of
wine for $25. The cuisine will feature a Northern Californian palliate of the freshest
ingredients that are harvested locally and organically.
Audiences
will experience Cuban salsa and rumba, Brazilian samba and bossa nova, Puerto
Rican bomba and plena, Haitian kreyol, Spanish flamenco, Peruvian lando,
Venezuelan jaropo, Chilean Cueca Andean huaino, and a broad range of Creole
styles where Latin, African, European, and American styles collided.
The
Bay Area musicians featured in this series have shared the bandstand with
Giovanni Hidalgo, Pete Escovedo, Ruben Blades, Susanna Baca, Omara Portuondo,
Los Van Van, Eddie Palmieri, Ray Charles, Gloria
Estefan, Sheila E. Celia Cruz, Hector Lavoe, Poncho Sanchez, and many more.
