That's a commonly asked question when you hail from Effingham.  "Where?"  "Effingham-HAM?"  "Do you eat a lot of ham there?"  We've all heard the jokes. But as any visitor can quickly see, Effingham has much to offer.  It's a beautiful, rural area with many unique things to see and do.  A friendly, caring community where people take the time to say hello. A town filled with character and characters.  A town that we feel blessed to live and work in, one which has supported our dream of bringing great American dining into a rural setting.  A town that is helping to build the firefly into a nationally recognized restaurant.  A community that is changing the joke "where the ____ is Effingham?" to a simple answer - 'that's where the firefly grill is!'".
