Lauren Sullivan

Lauren Sullivan knows firsthand what quality early learning experiences look and feel like, making her one of St. David's Center's strongest champions. Her family found a place for her in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program at St. David's Center 20 years ago, then as a volunteer, intern, substitute teacher and now full-time respite aide, Lauren has found her way back.

Moving and Upgrading

Our new satellite office, housing more than 40 community-based and finance staff, is now open in St. Louis Park!

We are also moving forward with Phase 1 of our Minnetonka campus renovation starting around September 1!

The goals of this renovation are to:

  • Update outdated and inefficient mechanical systems
  • Build a Children's Mental Health Clinic
  • Create multi-disciplinary Autism Day Treatment classrooms
  • Increase occupational therapy treatment spaces and renovate speech therapy rooms
  • Improve staff collaboration and efficiencies by creating adequate work spaces

The project is expected to last through next summer. Watch our lobby, Facebook page  and website for status updates.

Getting to the CORE

How can parents learn about the St. David's Center services their children need? Over the past six months, we've been developing a new Central Office of Resources and Enrollment (CORE) and it will be fully implemented this fall. The CORE will manage intake, enrollment and referrals for all of our 19 programs -- navigating resources and services so you can focus on the most important thing - your family. Stay tuned for more details!

Cynthia FurnasRemembering Cynthia Furnas

St. David's Center and our community lost a dear friend and historic educator in the passing of Cynthia Furnas in May. Cynthia began her career at St. David's Center in the early 1970s and retired more than 25 years later. She was a creative force and a unique teacher, loved by both children and parents.

Get Out and Grow!

Hay ride2Mark your calendar! Our 6th Annual Fall Festival: Get Out and Grow! presented by Mosaic Company is Saturday, October 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The free community event celebrates the great outdoors and your family's place in it!

Located in and near our 2.5 acres of DNR-designated wetlands and School Forest, the festival will feature up-close encounters with animals and nature as well as interactive art, music and health-boosting activities that will get families having fun outdoors!

Please contact Layne Trout at 952-548-8627 if you're interested in sponsoring, partnering or volunteering at the event.
