There are a number of road closures that may alter your driving times and routes. Lake County DOT is not in charge of all these projects, so I've tried to include the agency leading the project. Look here for an overview of Lake County projects.

Deerfield Road Closure begins Monday June 20, 2011 |

The Village of Deerfield plans to close Deerfield Road at the Metra Deerfield Station railroad track underpass effective on/about Monday, June 20 for construction of a pedestrian tunnel. The closure may last up to three weeks, but the time period can be shortened depending on the work schedule.

PROJECT STATUS:ACTIVE Work begins 3-14-2011 LANE CLOSURES - This work will result in the closing of roadway lanes. Therefore, alternative routes should be utilized to avoid congestion due to construction.

River Road Closure June 20, 2011

River Road to Close on June 20, 2011, for Emergency Culvert Repair
Gurnee, IL-The Warren Township Highway Department has informed the Lake County Division of Transportation of its intention to close River Road to thru traffic from Illinois Route 137, Buckley Road to Illinois Route 120, Belvidere Road on Monday, June 20th, 2011 from 7:15 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. for an emergency culvert replacement.
Local Traffic will be allowed from Illinois Route 120, Belvidere Road to the work site, approximately 750 feet south of Illinois Route 120 and from the work site to Illinois Route 137, Buckley Road.

Dundee Road June 20, 2011

DUNDEE ROAD
Illinois Department of Transportation will be reconstructing a bridge and relocating a water main on Dundee Road in Wheeling just west of Wolf Road starting Monday, June 20 through October, 2011. Dundee Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction throughout the duration of the project. Motorists should expect delays on Dundee Road.
