Greetings!   

 

Happy New Year!   

As ever, things are changing and, we hope, improving around HGRM.  With the work of many volunteers, we are making good use of our new space to make the client and volunteer experiences better with improvements day by day.  

We are planning several volunteer training sessions for all volunteers in late January / early February to help make your volunteer experience better while continuing to provide excellent service to our clients and donors.  Please take this quick survey to help us plan.  We hope you will be able to attend and share with other HGRM volunteers.

Thanks to all who contributed the stickers for pots and pans from Donelan's Supermarkets.  We were able to get 20 of these high quality pans which were immediately taken by our clients.

HGRM AMBASSADORS NEEDED THURSDAY JAN 19
Shop Acton Woods Plaza on
Thursday, January 19

As part of their efforts to support nonprofits in the community, several of the shops at Acton Woods Plaza (at Rt 27 & 2A) are contributing a portion of proceeds to a different organization each 3rd Thursday of the month.  January 19 is HGRM's day.  Get all the info here.

We will have the HGRM van at the Plaza from 8:30AM - 3:30PM so that people may drop off goods and learn more about us.  Ambassadors needed for this day - please let Jo-Ann know if you can do an hour.  Bring a friend!

According to askmetafilter.com, bath towels should be replaced every three years. Why not start the new year fresh by treating yourself to a fluffy, soft new set of bath towels? Local stores like Home Goods, Marshall's, and T.J. Maxx offer quality towels--including designer brands--at very reasonable prices. HGRM is in great need of your gently used towels-donate today! Please note that we are also currently in need of bureaus, metal bed frames, twin mattresses, and pots and pans in particular....»

To accept and distribute donated household goods free of charge to individuals and families in need through the use of volunteers and in cooperation with  community agencies and organizations.
