Greetings!

As I write this newsletter this morning, it's cold and raining here on the Gold Coast, a real wintery day. We haven't had much rain this winter but it has been quite cold which is a refreshing change for us. Hope you are all well and staying clear of the winter colds.

Well the Surf Sweets have been surfing out of here big time, so I'm guessing you like them?! We will be bringing some more of their products in towards the end of the year which will give you even more variety.

We are nearing completions of a very exciting negotiation which we should be able to announce later this month, so I will let you know about that as soon as I can, let me just say it will be very welcome news to you all!

This month we are going cookie mad. Check below for our crazy cookie specials, the perfect thing to accompany your cuppa these winter days!

We know you love the divine Love Cake mixes, the Cake and muffin mixes fly off the shelves. But .. have you been missing out by not trying the cookie mixes?!
These cookies are, like the cakes and muffins, just divine. They are the new boys on the block and I promise you will not be disappointed. They are slightly crispy on the outside and oh so soft and moist and decadent on the inside. And if you add some Enjoy Life choc chips to them, you have a brownie-like cookie ... is your mouth watering yet?

This month I have reduced the price of the Organic Love cookie mix to $9.50 (this is the same price as the non-organic version).
They have a best before date of end Sept. These cookies freeze beautifully, so why not stock up now and make up a few batches to whip out of the freezer when you need them in a hurry, stick them in the lunchbox, or treat yourself on a cold winter's afternoon ....

A Happy Birthdaynicky's cake

here is a photo from one of my customers who made her son a Love Cake for his birthday. She writes "here is the awesome cake.  N and his friends just loved it.  I've never had anyone come back for seconds of my cake let alone thirds..... And it was a big cake too."

I love to hear these stories about kids with allergies enjoying gorgeous allergy friendly foods! If you have any pics or stories you'd like to share, please email me any time!

Did you know .....

a few tips & hints (from Enjoy Life's Survival Guide)

  • wheat free does not mean gluten free. Wheat free items can contain other sources of gluten such as barley, rye or oats
  • soy sauce, cold meats, some makeup, some medicines and even Play Doh can contain wheat
  • lactose free is not dairy free. And dairy free isn't always casein free. Avoid non dairy foods that contain the ingredients casein or caseinate. Kosher pareve foods are free of dairy proteins
  • casein is a protein in dairy and may be found in products like margarine, tuna, dairy free cheese, artificial flavourings, HVP

Check your labels! And call the manufacturer if you have any doubts. Food label reading for allergies is a minefield. Over the coming months we will bring you more hints and tips. And if you have any facts that were useful to you that you'd like to share please feel free to let me know so I can include them!
