Easter Ideas
We try to steer away from too much food focus at Easter time, but as the kids get older and take more notice of what the others are eating, it does become more difficult.
I bought some Easter Egg moulds from Woolies and made my own eggs last year. I wrapped them in coloured foil and they really did the trick. However, remember that because they don't have emulsifiers and other ingredients that "normal" easter eggs have that they don't last as long, and are best kept in the fridge or freezer.
Easter Egg Recipe 1 : melt Enjoy Life choc chips with a small amount of DariFree to make it creamier (if you like dark chocolate then you can even leave the DariFree out). Pour into the moulds and put in freezer to set.
Easter Egg Recipe 2 : Enjoy Life's new Boom Choco Boom bars weren't around last easter, but this year I will be melting these down to make my eggs. They come in 3 varieties : dark chocolate, rice milk chocolate and rice milk with crispy rice. I will be melting a combination of all 3. If you are using the rice milk or crispy rice ones they will be milky enough and you won't need to add anything else.
S'mores Easter treats
(adapted from Enjoy Life)
1 box Snickerdoodle cookies
3 large gluten/dairy free marshmellows
1 Boom Choco Boom bar
cut the marshmellows in half, so you have 6 pieces, & set aside
Break the Boom Choco Boom bar into 4 pieces then halve each one, for a total of 8 pieces, set aside
Slightly flatten 2 snickerdoodle cookies. Place a piece of chocolate in the centre
slightly flatten a marshmellow piece and put it on top of the chocolate. cover with remaining cookie.
continue assembling s'mores as per above.
place s'mores on a microwavable plate, microwave for 10-20 seconds or until the chocolate starts to melt and the marshmellow softens.
Enjoy!

Important Miss Roben's update
This week I received some very sad news that Miss Roben's closed their doors on Monday, a victim of the hard economic times that the US is experiencing. I know many of you will be as sad as I am to see this small family business disappear and their fabulous products along with them.
So that means the existing stock of Miss Roben's that I have right now will be it, once they are gone I won't be able to get any more. I will update the website as products are sold out. We are already out of the carrot cakes. So now is the time to stock up on any of your favourites.
I will be investigating other products over the next little while, and we are introducing more of the Enjoy Life range next month, so stay tuned for those.
