UNITY!!!
By Naim Shah Sr.,
ILM Outreach Director

Promoting unity is the key to improving the standard of Muslim life in America. Faith is a natural immunity from corruption and injustice. Today, we are compromising our faith by not fostering more unity in the community. Unity will improve our relationship with our Creator and each other. So my message is simple, Work for Unity! Work for Unity!

Humanitarian USA: National Expansion Continues!

h-daykid

As we begin to prepare for our 10th year of Humanitarian Day, the concept of being contributors in our communities and providing support to the disadvantaged continues to grow. In 2010, H-Day will continue to strive in cities such as Las Vegas, Dallas, and Kansas City. This year Detroit and Washington D.C. will be joining the H-Day family. There are also several other cities who have interest in hosting the event, so lookout for the continued growth of Humanitarian Day.

ali hakin

The Go Beyond the GAME mentoring program is off to great success in 2010. Dwayne Frampton, a GBG participant since 2000, was named the top Junior College wide receiver in the nation and signed a two-year full athletic scholarship to Arkansas State University.

Another outstanding participant is Jeanie Shaba, who ended his high school athletic career at Fairfax with an overall GPA of 3.75 and is currently entertaining several athletic and academic college scholarship offers.

Ali Hakim (shown above), our standout power forward from Mayfair High School, in Cerritos, CA. did an excellent job in the Suburban League Championship game. Ali helped his team secure their league for the third time. GBG is making a difference in the lives of our youth!
