SBDC: Invitation to promote your business

to our Clients:

We want to show off your business!

The SV SBDC will have a display at the upcoming Chefs in Bloom event at JMU's Festival Center, Sunday afternoon, Sept 26, from 1:00-5:00.

As you may guess, the theme of this event focuses on food and cooking, and many vendors will be giving away samples of their specialty food items - which will, of course, draw a very good crowd! Attendance last year was estimated at least 600; we expect more this time.

You might ask how the SBDC will fit in with a bunch of food vendors. Well, we think we have some pretty impressive "Recipes for Success" and a top-notch "Menu of Opportunities" for every business and entrepreneur in our Valley. So we'll be setting a table of goodies to share with visitors that day.

We want to tell everyone about the wonderful clients and successful entrepreneurs we've worked with for the past 20 years - that's YOU!

Here's how you can participate in our display of Successful SBDC Clients:
1) Provide a stack of your business cards or brochures, and we'll distribute them to attendees for you. Give us at least 50; 100 is better. details

2) If you are a food business, provide small samples of your best food product(s) - the more the better, as I'm sure they will be the real crowd-pleasers! We'll give one to a visitor - along with your business card, of course. details

3) Provide a door-prize give-away--one of your products, a logo-T-shirt, a gift certificate, or coupon. details

You know we make a pledge of confidentiality to every one of our clients, and we take that promise very seriously. We never talk about our clients without your permission. But, when you participate with us in this event, we'll be able to tell everyone what a great business you have AND we can encourage them to learn more about your business by contacting you directly!

a few details -

for cards or brochures - please nothing larger than a 1/3 page rack card or brochure. We simply will not have room for full-pages; business cards are ideal. Bring them to us at 1598 S. Main St, Harrisonburg, or mail them to JMU MSC 5502, Harrisonburg VA 22807. We need them by noon on Friday, Sept 24.

for food - please contact us directly to discuss specifics of this. In brief, we can take only finger-food type samples that don't require being kept warm or cold. Small sizes are best. Note that we cannot sell any products.

for give-aways - you can bring the gift to our office by noon Friday, Sept 24, or deliver it to Chefs in Bloom in person. Be sure the gift is marked or tagged with your business identity. Email or call us to arrange how you'd like this to be handled.
