Greetings!

What a wonderful, busy month! At home we have been celebrating graduations, planting gardens, sweeping away pollen, and enjoying the lovely cool nights! Here at The Partnership we have been extra busy too. I hope you enjoy these little stories about Capable Kids and Families and Early Care and Education!
HELP WITH EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION
Jackie Congratulations Jackie What do you get when you mix two babies with a two- year-old and add in four five-year-olds?  You could get chaos. Fortunately Jackie Schaeffer, owner of Jackie's Lil Britches Childcare, found The Community Partnership's Early Care and Education program (ECE). ECE helps Jackie provide her students with a quality childcare experience and also helps her manage her childcare business.

ECE has been working with Jackie since 2003.  Jackie's Lil Britches is now licensed by the state and Jackie has received numerous hours of training covering all aspects of children's development.  "I just completed my first college class in infant and toddler curriculum thanks to their support. They are currently assisting me in completing my child development associate credentials. I don't know what I'd do without them! They're awesome," noted Jackie.
CAPABLE KIDS FAMILY FUN NIGHT
Blue A Visit from Blue
Capable Kids and Families members celebrated a wonderful literacy night this last week with a special guest. Blue of Blue's Clues fame (aka Josh Goodrich) visited children and families to share the joys of reading.

Families enjoyed crafts, games, pizza, and the chance to learn and share with one another. The room was a bit crowded and warm but everyone had a great time. Capable Kids and Families continues to grow and flourish!
I hope you enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday weekend. I am heading to the Lake to present a session on "Gender Specific Programs" for the Missouri Juvenile Justice Association Conference. I am going to share the great resource available from Girls Inc. Take care!

Sincerely,
