Greetings!
This week has proved to be another eventful one at the Community Partnership. Robyn and Rene hosted a foster parent appreciation dinner with board member Mary Sheffield as the guest speaker! We have some possibilities of a new home and our Program Committee has been finishing up plans for next year. I have also been teaching another wonderful Girls Inc class with six moms and seven daughters - we had a lot of fun last night! Below you can also read about a garden party and some wonderful staff accomplishments. Thanks for reading!

Congratulations Tara!Tara Morrow, Young Parent Coordinator, is pictured at right, at this years Young Parent's Christmas Party. Mr. and Mrs. Claus must have been listening because it looks like Tara's Christmas wish came true!
On May 21, 2008 Tara will be presenting the results of her work with Girls Inc participants from Edgar Springs and Newburg. She will be presenting her paper; "Evaluation of Abstinence-Focused Sexual Education Curriculum for Girls in Junior High." The presentation will take place at the Association for Psychological Science Annual Conference in Chicago! If that isn't enough good news - Tara is also listed as an author of a paper published in the Journal of Attention Disorders this month. Way to go Tara!

YOUTH LEARN GARDENING BASICS

Thanks Andy! Andy Read, Horticulturist with the University of Missouri Extension, helped our youth parent participants plant container garden. These little vegetable gardens gave youth the chance to experience planting and learn some cultivating tips. Future rewards will include their own homegrown veggies!
Youth and their children had a great time and as you can see we use our space well! This was a parking lot planing session!
