Greetings!
As usual this was a great and busy week for The Community Partnership! We had a visit from the Mr. Rogers' Institute, celebrated our Volunteers and Community Builders with a yummy breakfast, welcomed two new board members, and more.
Our new board members are Michael Thompson, General Manager of Results Radio, and Dustin Howard, Vice President of Progressive Ozarks Bank in Salem. Welcome, Mike and Dustin, and thank you for your commitment to The Partnership.

What a Beautiful Day!
Each year the ECE Department
celebrates Provider Appreciation Day. This year they asked providers how they
demonstrate The Partnership's appreciation for their work.
The providers asked for training. ECE staffed brought in an excellent
trainer and provided breakfast and a lovely lunch. Thanks to the United
Methodist Church in Rolla, the facilities were excellent too!
Felicia DeHaney with Mr. Rogers Family Communications presented a six-hour training on Challenging Behaviors to 58 child care providers. Senator
Frank Barnitz stopped by to visit with providers during lunch. The program was
very well received. Here are some of the provider's comments:
- I enjoyed this very much and will try a
different approach, like ask more questions.
- Felicia was very good and knew her content. I thoroughly
enjoyed the class. An added benefit was that I also learned more about my
feelings and attitude and how to sometimes react differently to a
situation.
- I learned that almost everyone feels
a level of frustration regarding discipline. I was also reminded that children
may feel and see things differently than adults.
- Great idea and thank you to the
Partnership.
- That there is always a reason behind any
action or feeling that we may not be aware of.

CELEBRATING OUR PARTNERS!

Fiesta Breakfast
This past Tuesday we had the opportunity to recognize some of our wonderful partners. A special breakfast honoring our Community Builders and Volunteers (including our wonderful board members) included an early Cinco de Mayo flair. Staff of The Community Partnership prepared the makings for breakfast burritos, bagels, fruit, and mini corn muffins. Some staff even arrived at The First Baptist Church at 5:00 a.m. to get everything started!
We also gave out volunteer appreciation pins and heard from a very special volunteer, Tishia Gibson-Tsiptsis. Tishia has been an amazing volunteer mentor for one our our young parents, who wrote about Tishia: "Now I have someone to trust." We are so very grateful to Tishia and the many wonderful volunteers that keep The Partnership growing!
