Issue: # Month/Year
Greetings!

Well, I was a bit embarrassed by my hastily put together Notes last week. This week my resolution is to write today and tomorrow read it for mistakes - this only took me four days. Hope you understood my ramblings last week. Here's to a better set of Notes!
NEWS ARTICLE GETS RESULTS
Baby Bucks Baby Bucks Benefits
A news article in the Rolla Daily News, about the Baby Bucks Party, resulted in a great donation. A member of Lambda Sigma Pi happened to read the article and decided that their service organization would like to support the Young Parents Program. A $1,000 donation will be presented to The Partnership from this group of generous young women.

From the MST website: Lambda Sigma Pi is a female service organization at Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly University of Missouri-Rolla). Members of this elite organization are chosen through an interview process to become part of this hard-working, fun-loving group of ladies. Each member donates her time and energy to give back to the community. Through their hard work, the women form strong bonds with each other that will last a lifetime.

CLIENT SUCCESS!
Community Work Support

The Community Work Support (CWS) project works to assist those families on Temporary Assistance who have been sanctioned by the state for not engaging in work activities. CWS does this by helping them overcome barriers to employment and moving them towards economic self-sufficiency.  The project coordinator, Angela Crawford, is currently working with a number of families and is happy to report the first successful resolution of one of those cases.

The client faced numerous barriers including transportation and childcare issues, medical problems, and substance abuse issues. The client was very open particularly about the substance abuse issues and, with the assistance of the CWS project, she is participating in a drug treatment program and has successfully completed the intensive portion of that program.  CWS has also helped this person take the necessary steps to keep her from incarceration and regain a driver's license.  This individual is now actively participating in classes to obtain her GED and the father of the child is back in the picture and supporting the family. He also overcame an addiction as well. Angela has closed this Temporary Assistance case.

We will soon be launching the MOTOR program - a low-interest car ownership program for clients in the six counties we serve. I will let you know more about this program - and how you can help - in the coming weeks.

I hope you enjoy a gorgeous weekend and that life is treating you well. Again, thank you for all you do for our community and The Partnership.

Sincerely,
