Greetings!
This week I wanted to share some news from our Youth Development/MMP group and the Resale Shop. The Young Parents Program and the Youth Employment Skills Program combined efforts this week for a great Education Night. This is hard for me to believe but the Resale Shop turned three! More information about both of these "new" items can be found below.

Great Volunteers and Donations
Believe it or not the Partnership Resale Shop is now three years old. This week we celebrated our anniversary with 25 cent hot dogs and sodas. We also had a contest for guessing mystery items. I failed this on miserably and hope someone will tell me about that white contraption!
We also had a great donation this week from St. Patrick's Church and School. The great folks at St. Pat's (usually Gail Drallmeier) pack up all the leftover rummage items and bring them to us. If we can't sell it we bale it and it looks like these bale items put us over the top and able to make a full trailer load to sell to our buyer. That means a $4,000 check for 4,000 pounds of clothes we couldn't sell. Thanks for the thinking of us St. Pat's!

Six Lucky Scholarship Winners
This week the Young Parent and Youth Employment Skills Programs hosted a spectacular Education Night. This year's event was held at the Christian Life Center - what a great location. The night included pizza, childcare, and prizes. The staff also arranged for several post-secondary educational institutions from around the state to provide information about their programs. PCRMC was also there to encourage students to think about medical careers. MST provided information about financial aid and students from MST presented a panel of college students for questions and answers.
One of the best parts of the evening was awarding six scholarships to youth participants. $6,000 in scholarships were awarded thanks to the generous donation of the MoSci Foundation. Pictured above (Right to Left) are Ted Day, President of MoSci, four of the proud scholarship winners, and me. I am always so amazed at how very hard these young people work to make a better life for themselves and their families. They are an inspiration.
