                     Go Green  at the Library                       
Cans will be available at the Circulation Desk during April for donations to SCARCE.  SCARCE (School and Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education), a Glen Ellyn-based organization, is dedicated to educating students, teachers, residents, businesses, and the general public to conserve natural resources and energy, prevent pollution, reduce waste, recycle, and compost organic materials.

How Does Your Community Participate in Grren Programs?

Monday, April 18..............7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The Sierra Club River Prairie Group and other civic, religious and environmental groups will talk about how they practice Earth Day every day!  There will be well known speakers in the field of environmental methods.  No registration is required for this free event. 

 

GE Recycling Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, April 30 from 8 am - Noon in the Duane/Lorraine Parking Lot.  Go to the Village of Glen Ellyn web site at www.glenellyn.org for more information.

Rain Barrel Funds  are still available under the Glen Ellyn Environmental Commission's Rain Barrel Reimbursement Program.  The program provides a $40 reimbursement for the purchase of one rain barrel per household.  The application and information on the program can be found on the Environmental Commission webpage
