Please join THE POWER OF TWO and Rep. Mike Honda (D-CA) at a briefing focusing on health issues of particular concern to Asian & Pacific Islander American communities at 10 a.m. on July 15, 2010, in the Capitol Visitor Center, room HVC-215.
CAPAC (Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus) Chairman Honda, a member of the THE POWER OF TWO Advisory Board, will open the briefing, and will be followed by an expert panel including:
Corinna Dan, Hepatitis B Policy Fellow at AAPCHO (Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations);
Yul Kwon, bone marrow donation advocate; Deputy Chief, FCC Bureau of Consumer & Governmental Affairs; and Survivor: Cook Islands Champion; and

At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, at E Street Cinema, 55 11th St., NW, THE POWER OF TWO team will present the trailer for the upcoming film and a short clip at "Gene Screen, A Night of Film on Health & Genetics," presented by Genetic Alliance, one of THE POWER OF TWO's 30 non-profit community partners.
Marc, Ana & Isa will then participate in a Film-Maker Q&A at 8:15, which will also include film-makers associated with three other short films being screened at 7:30 -- "Jewish Genetic Diseases," "Mito-Kids: Documenting Life," and "On Beauty." Registration is free and is available online here.
Gene Screen begins with a screening at 6:00 of "In My Hands: A Story of Marfan Syndrome," and continues after THE POWER OF TWO's appearance with its final screening, of "Darius Goes West: The Roll of His Life," at 9 p.m. |
