Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. Malachi 3:10
The tithe belongs to the Lord. And when you return back to God what already belongs to him, he's going to provide for your needs. He promised you that the he would bless you so much that you would not have room for it. That's a promise! And I've never seen God not back up a promise. He cannot lie.
You also have special favor when you return the tithe to God (Malachi 3:11 and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit.). He'll give you favor at your job, with your friends, and favor in other challenges. You'll set out in activities, and the seeds you plant will bear fruit.
God wants us to "test [him] in this." On Sunday, I shared with you the Stonebridge Tithing Challenge. The Tithing Challenge is for anyone who wants to test God for 6-weeks in returning their tithe to him. Taking the tithing challenge means that you commit to return/give the tithe cheerfully (10% of your income) to God for the next 6-weeks. [February 10 - March 23]
If at the end of 6-weeks, tithing did not work for you and you feel that God did not bless you or provide for you, Stonebridge will write you a check for reimbursement for tithe paid over those 6-weeks.
This challenge is between you and God. If at the end of 6-weeks, you want your tithe back, then let us know via email or calling the office, and we'll send a check back to you for the total tithe paid during the 6-weeks.
I believe that if you test him in this, that he will show his awesome power of provision for you. Take the next step!
No matter what step you are on this week, you can go to the next level in giving.
Step 1. You give nothing
Step 2. You give something every now and then.
Step 3. You give a percentage that isn't 10%.
Step 4. You are a tither.
Step 5. You are a giver beyond the tithe.
Step 6. You are an extravagant giver beyond the tithe.
