Hello parents,
The Scholars' academy opens for its ninth year of operation tomorrow (Monday, August 25th). We have 236 students in 13 classrooms. Our first double Discovers 1 (kindergarten) group is now Investigators (third grade). This is the largest enrollment in our school history!
The school has 31 employees; five of them are part-time/hourly employees.
Some important things to remember for Monday:
- Before care will open at 7:00 am as usual. Ms. Julie will be coordinating before care.
- The bus will operate on a regular schedule.
- If you plan to get out of your car to drop off or pick up students, plerase park in the big lot. Please DO NOT PARK along the side of the building (sidewalk) next to the British American School. We will have volunteers to help with pick up traffic.
- All students, parents and visitors will enter the building through the office.
- Classrooms are open to students at 9:00am. Students who arrive earlier than 9:00am should wait with parents outside the building or report to before care.
WE ARE A NUT FREE SCHOOL FOR 2008-2009
- Please do not send any products to school for lunch or snacks with nuts of any kind. For children who love their PB & J sandwiches for lunch, we recommend sunflower nut butter. If you have any questions about specific items, please contact Donna Dansby (704) 523-7322 or Julie DiBella (704) 628-0277.
We always look forward to the beginning of school with pleasure and feelings of positive anticipation. We are happy to have you with us for this school year.
Marie E. Peine, PH.D.
