INTENT TO CONTINUE ENROLLMENT FORMS
The official forms to indicate your plans about enrollment for your child(ren) for the 2008-2009 school year are in backpacks today. If you have multiple children at the school, please check the backpack of the youngest child. The forms will also be available on the website under the Documents tab. We use re-enrollment data to begin the budget planning process, to determine how many available seats we will have in each classroom for next year, and for transportation decisions. As you may be aware, our growth plan indicates that we will have two classrooms at the Discoverers I, II, and III levels next year - and we will be adding our second classroom in Investigators I. We are projecting enrollment for next school year to be in the 250 student range. Please return the intent forms by the date indicated. And thank you for your on-going support as we continue to meet our goals to meet and exceed the needs of highly gifted children in this region.

Parent's Book Recommendation
Sue Vacek was inspired by "Teach Like Your Hair's On Fire: The Methods and Madness Inside Room 56" by Rafe Esquith. The author is a veteran 5th-grade teacher in central Los Angeles.
"This book is entertaining and encouraging. He has nothing more than very basic resources from the school district - and an endless supply of dedication and creativity. This book reminds us all how wonderful learning - and teaching - can be, just by paying attention to a few simple, basic tenets." | |
