I Need Help To Learn English - I am a young Mexican citizen currently working in a professional bi-lingual office in Todos Santos. I am looking for someone who can help me improve my English. Preferably one hour in the mornings, three days a week. Student rates please. - Anita Tutor, patybs_23[-at-]hotmail.com, 612 14 50551, Todos Santos
Re:"Building On The Dunes" - Why is there no email address for this post? The person who owns that property probably has the legal right to subdivide. You can complain all you want, obstruct all you can, but it won't do much good. Mexicans don't really recognize the Gringo attitude of 'nimby', or 'nimfy'. Baja has changed greatly over the last few years, and as is elsewhere, Beachfront is Beachfront. - amyhop[-at-]gorge.net
Thank You - We complain vigorously, yet often forget to express our appreciation for a job well done. I would like to
thank the new Municipal President, Lic. Roas Delia Cota Montano and all other Municipal officials who helped clean up the Waste Treatment lagoon. I walked the area yesterday and found that the sewage that had spilled over the beach has been cleared away and most all the debris removed. The waste lagoon has been restored and enlarged and asecond lagoon is being prepared for emergencies. This is no little Band-Aid, but an honest effort to provide a sewage treatment system that will not cause further problems while the new treatment plant is being constructed. This is the first time I can recall a municipal administration take action to truly improve the sewage lagoon and protect our beaches. In particular I would like to thank Biologist Lorenzo Nunes for his valiant efforts on behalf of Todos Santos; his was not a pleasant
task.
I would also like to mention that I have noticed a
dramatic decline in crime and drug activity in our
area. I have not heard of new robberies in Todos Santos for several weeks and I understand the situation in Pescadero has also improved.
I would like to thank Congress Woman Ady Nunez and all
the municipal officials and state and local law
enforcement agencies that have worked to restore
security to Todos Santos. - Elena Moreno, 145-0050

MySpace Virus Warning - The following is my own public advisory. I am not reposting information I received from someone else, nor am I asking you to "Forward this to everyone in you address book" like so many bogus virus warnings do.
Today I received an E mail invitation from someone asking to be added as a "Friend" to my Myspace page. The Sender's page was an actual page on Myspace.com, but when I visited it, the page attempted to download a virus disguised to look like a Windows Update file for Windows Defender. These are real Myspace pages that have probably been hacked and hijacked by criminals, who appear to be based in Malaysia and Ukraine. Apparently, they have found a way to take over some MySpace members' online accounts.
There is a concerted attempt now to infect computers worldwide because, once infected, the attackers can remotely control these computers to send spam or launch cyber attacks on company and government sites in order to intimidate, blackmail or disable them. There is a money element in all this. These slime balls also "rent" these hijacked computers to other criminals for similar purposes.
I should add that it's OK to visit Myspace pages to determine if "Friend" requests are legitimate but just be careful to not download or install any files. Instead, report the offending page to Myspace by clicking on the "Report Abuse" link at the very bottom of the page. As always, please be very careful with anything you receive by E-mail. Make sure your anti-virus software is up to date and do not download or install any program or file you are not absolutely 100% sure of. - Alan Thompson, alan[-at-]Baja1.com, Todos Santos
