Record Turtle Nests Rescued - On August 25 ASUPMATOMA/Todos Tortugueros volunteers rescued 14 Olive Ridley nests containing 1,502 eggs. Olive Ridley nesting season will continue through October when Leatherback nesting begins through March. Please help these endangered species by reducing outdoor lighting, not driving on the beach and making sure your construction debris is disposed of properly. In one week, between 1,500 and 2,000 eggs can be saved with just 910 pesos in gasoline(130/nightly). If you are interested in sponsoring our project, donations can be made through our website, or directly to our treasurers German Agundez and Francesca Dvorak. Muchas Gracias from the thousands of baby turtles who will begin hatching next month. - Francesca, todostortugueros[-at-],, 612.145.0353, Todos Santos

HSBC Fideicomiso Office Gone - I have some important information for all property owners in which HSBC Bank holds their Fideicomiso. The Fiduciary office at HSBC on Isabel la Catolica in La Paz is permanently closed and the Bank has contracted an outside office in Hermosillo to do their collections. Serfin-Santander, Banamex, Bancomer and now HSBC have all left La Paz with their Fiduciary offices and made it quite difficult to keep current with the yearly payments.

Basilfields Where Are You? - Can you let our readers know if you are going to be selling your produce in Todos Santos in September and if so what your new schedule will be? We looked for you Friday and no one was there? BWO -

Re: Where Is Your Garbage Going - I would like to amend this notice by suggesting that if folks want to have their garbage properly hauled to the dump, they should offer extra money to pay for gas, rather than sneak around following their hauler, which will ultimately negate the reason for getting someone to do the dirty work for them in the first place. - Liane

Tuesday Movie Night At Buena Vida - This Tuesday we will be showing "Six String Samurai" After the Russians lob an atomic bomb at the United States in the late 1950s, survivors flock to the neon lights of "Lost Vegas," where Elvis Presley is a bona fide king of music and men, but when His Majesty dies unexpectedly, the city's shiny throne is up for grabs. Armed with a six-string in one hand and a samurai sword in the other, rock 'n' roll hipster Buddy (Jeffrey Falcon) vows to make it to Sin City in time for his coronation. This is a fantastic B movie with a great soundtrack composed by The Red Elvises (if your from Los Angeles then you know who they are) it is wierd but entertaining! We will be open at 6:30 and the movie will start at 8:30. Please remember to bring a pillow so that you will be more confortable. We will see you there! - Jessie Rutowski, jessierutowski[-at-], 6121343100
