Need Help Building a Website - We have a new business in La Paz called Breezy Rider Rentals, which rents scooters. I need to set up a website, and need recommendations as to who I should use, etc. I have already registered our domain name, so just need a website. Thank you in advance for any help. - Susan Waldorf, Kahan1016[-at-]aol.com, 5092997391, La Paz

Sindicatura Question - In looking at the Sindicatura website, it seems to refer to Tijuana only. Has anyone had experience that would indicate that police in Baja Sur recognize and respect the decal or the office? Thanks. - Lou , lcrocker[-at-]starband.net, 530 298-2098, Todos Santos

SOS - After reading about SOS and wondering about paying $25 to a US based organization some red flags were raised in my thinking. I asked the Discover Baja Club, what they knew of SOS and included the phone numbers etc. Below is the reply I received from Discover Baja.

"We have checked out this organization with the board of tourism and it is NOT legal. Neither of the phone numbers we had for them ever worked.
there is a sindicatura site http://www.sindicatura.gob.mx/
which is the Mexican government and it is legitimate.

Hope this helps, Carol"

Bee Hive Wanted - Does anyone have a clean empty beehive that they are willing to sell? - Leirion , leirionalice[-at-]netzero.com, 044-612-111-6226

Be Wary Of Fumigators - We recently had jewelry stolen from our home in Las Brisas by a fumigator named Daniel Higuera Cota. He is tall (6'3"), thin, dark-haired, goatee, thirtyish, slick, drives a small white pickup, and got by our gate by feigning a business association with his older brother, Diego Higuera Cota, who we know to be an honest fumigator serving Todos Santos for many years now. Diego is also tall, but thicker, silver-haired, with some silver-capped teeth. His business is called Eco-Fumigaciones, 044-612-157-7645, and we recommend Diego unreservedly. - Michael Mercer, barkingdogbooks[-at-]yahoo.com, Todos Santos

Correction To "Private Art Auction" - The "Corn Lady" painting Jeanne Cordova advertised for her moving sale (BWO, 11/06/07) is not the first piece ever sold by Todos Santos artist Gloria Marie V. It is, however, the first "Corn Lady." She painted a second, so that it could be photographed for her website, www.gloriamariev.com, and a third on request from a collector in the states. It is a popular painting: another buyer wants to commission a fourth. Mary Shortell in Las Brisas owns the second version (considered by the artist to be the best).

We will miss Jeanne--exiting Todos Santos with every bit as much class as when she arrived, some ten years ago--and we wish her success with the garage sale. Michael and Gloria - Michael Mercer, barkingdogbooks[-at-]yahoo.com, Todos Santos

No More Jake Brakes - Has anyone else noticed that the signature sound of central Todos Santos, the blam, blam, blam of Jake brakes being used at all hours of the day and night is missing...I've been home 3 weeks and nary a blam, blam, blam. I don't know who is responsible for the change of how they accomplished it but it is absolutely wonderful. A major step towards creating a pueblo that supports quality of life. Congratulations to those involved. Now to move the heavy transport that doesn't pertain to us right out of town on an appropriate bypass...Now, that would be a major victory. Thanks. - Janel Beeman, janelb3[-at-]yahoo.com, 1450213,
