If you've never read The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, you've been missing out on one of the best-selling leadership books of all time. If you have read the original version, then you'll love this new expanded and updated one.
Internationally recognized leadership expert, speaker, and author John C. Maxwell has taken this million-seller and made it even better:

About the Author:
John C. Maxwell is an internationally recognized leadership expert, speaker, and author who has sold over 13 million books. His organizations have trained more than 2 million leaders worldwide. Dr. Maxwell is the founder of EQUIP and INJOY Stewardship Services.

My comments:
I should have more audio books of John C Maxwell reading them to me because I just love to listen to this man.
Never mind the fact that I learn tons of very useful and practical information that helps me be a better manager. Never mind the fact that he has become the number one management guru in the world. Never mind the fact that the guy is a non-stop writer, lecturer, family man, and the list is very long. Never mind all of those things and many more. I just love to listen to him talk and how he tells the most interesting stories that make his points so clear. He is my management guru too.
Enjoy!

Unique Ford Transit Turns Heads |
Custom-designed by Marygrove Awnings, the Transit Connect serves as a mobile showroom for the company
- A unique-looking Ford Transit Connect drew a lot of attention on the street at last weekend's Woodward Dream Cruise
- Custom-designed by Marygrove Awnings, the Transit Connect serves as a mobile showroom for the company - complete with colorful, striped roof-mounted functioning manual and motorized awnings - that extend out from the vehicle on both sides
- Marygrove Awnings says its business has grown 15 percent since the Transit Connect was purchased in March
The Marygrove Awnings Transit Connect was custom designed to be a mobile showroom for the Livonia, Mich.-based business, which is one of the largest retractable awning companies in the country. Falahee says the vehicle has helped improve sales by 15 percent since its purchase in March.
"The vehicle is paying for itself time and time again," he said. "And the reason is because customers can touch and feel the product and see how it works. You can't do that if a guy walks into your home or business with a catalog." The roof-mounted awnings actually demonstrate the product. One side shows the manual operation of the awning, and the other side shows the motorized function. "What's nice about having the display up on the roof of the Transit Connect is that it gives enough height so that our customers can get underneath the awning and really feel the comfort of the awning when it is projected," said Falahee. "And by taking the Transit Connect to a customer's home, we can actually place the awning in the same direction of their patio. If they have a western exposure, for example, the Transit Connect is so maneuverable we can easily turn the vehicle sideways so that they can get a feel for the element of shade at a particular time of day," he said. |

Maxon's New GPC Cantilever Liftgate |
MAXON'S NEW GPC:
EUROPEAN DESIGN, NORTH AMERICAN MANUFACTURING.
The stability you want in a Cantilever gate with the support you need.
Maxon Lift Corp, the leader in liftgates is once again revitalizing the liftgate industry with the introduction of the first North American made cantilever liftgate. The GPC 22/33/44 is the first European designed, but North American manufactured - cantilever style liftgate. The GPC provides the precision, stability, and control you expect from a European cantilever gate, thanks to four separate cylinders for lift and tilt operations. You can easily level the load in any position thus achieving a simplification of loading and unloading on uneven surfaces.
Historically, Maxon has sourced this US niche product from a leading German supplier but is now bringing its own GPC product to the market. Consequently, Maxon customers will no longer need to be concerned with overseas delivery timing for spare part supplies, additional overseas sourcing costs or product spec constraints.
The GPC comes in a variety of platform sizes (both steel and aluminum), and can accommodate a wide range of bed height requirements. Built with performance in mind, the GPC features stainless steel pins, low maintenance bushings and grease fittings on all pivot points, a heavy-duty motor with thermal protection, lock valves on all cylinders, optional dual cart stops, and bolt-on installation plates for a quick and simple installation.
Just as important, the GPC uses standard Maxon parts and has an expert support and service team that is only one 800-number away. You'll never have to wonder who can service your gates, or where the parts will come from. "We're confident that the GPC will revolutionize this segmented portion of the industry and will constitute the benchmark, for future cantilevers", says Brent Stratton, Office of the President.
Maxon Lift Corp. was founded in 1957. That same year, owner Max Lugash invented the TUK-A-WAY® liftgate, which remains the largest selling style of liftgate in North America. For more than fifty years, Maxon Lift Corp. has initiated and developed a variety of innovative products that have become truck equipment industry benchmarks. Find out how the new GPC delivers the stability you want and the support you need at www.maxonlfit.com/conventional.
More company information can be obtained from Maxon and local Maxon sales representatives at 800-227-4116 or http://www.maxonlift.com/. |

Frito Lay Canada Buys Smith Electric Trucks |

Frito Lay Canada is Canada's First Food Manufacturer to Introduce Zero-Emission Electric Vehicles into Delivery Fleet
Six zero-emission electric vehicles to be added across the country
Mississauga, ON - In collaboration with Transport Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Frito Lay Canada, a division of PepsiCo Canada, is the country's first food manufacturer to introduce zero-emission electric vehicles into its delivery fleet. Six vehicles will be based at Frito Lay Canada's major distribution centres across the country - three in Brampton (ON), one in Ottawa (ON), one in Surrey (BC) and one in Laval (QC).
The zero-emission electric vehicles were made by Smith Electric Vehicles, the world's leading manufacturer of electric vehicles, and each has a 60 kilometre per day range which meets the daily kilometre needs of the majority of the routes from the designated distribution centres. The six electric vehicles will be powered by electricity from the grid, offset by renewable energy credits, and at the end of the battery lifespan (3-5 years or longer) they will be returned to Smith Electric for recycling.
"Electric vehicles are good for the environment because they do not use fossil fuels and they do not produce greenhouse gas or particulate emissions during operation," says Helmi Ansari, sustainability leader, Frito Lay Canada. "We've been striving to reduce our footprint on the planet for many years and energy conservation has long been a strategic initiative for the company. Today's introduction of electric vehicles to our fleet brings us one step closer to our vision of a fleet that's comprised of several types of highly-efficient vehicles that meet our various route needs and driving distances across the country."

UD Trucks Releases New Condor Series |

UD Trucks Releases All-New Condor PK/PW Series
- Combining heavy-duty truck cab comfort with medium-duty truck economy -
UD Trucks Corporation (formerly Nissan Diesel Motor Co., Ltd.) announced the nationwide sales launch today of the all-new Condor PK (9-ton class payload) and Condor PW (12-ton class payload) series following the execution of a full model change.
The newly released Condor PK and Condor PW models feature a new cab design that expresses a unified family identity with the Quon heavy-duty truck series along with the nimble maneuverability characteristic of medium-duty trucks and achieves outstanding aerodynamic performance, safety and comfort. In addition, the new Condor models share the same axle parts and brake parts with the Quon heavy-duty truck series to construct suspension and brake systems for enhanced peace of mind.
Powering the Condor models is the self-developed GH7 engine equipped with a newly developed common rail system with a higher maximum fuel injection pressure. For the first time, the Condor series is now fitted with the UD Particulate Cleaning (UDPC) system and a urea selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system. These emission control technologies for reducing particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions were previously refined on the Quon heavy-duty truck series. As a result, the new Condor models deliver better fuel economy combined with improved environmental performance that complies with Japan's 2009 exhaust emission regulations.
Moreover, like the Quon heavy-duty truck series, "UD Genuine After Market Product" which is comprehensive after-the-sale service product is set out, and the new Condor models come with, as standard equipment, the "Fuel Economy King" system that advises the driver on driving techniques for improving fuel economy and a multifunction display with a newly added function for monitoring the vehicle's operational status via the Internet. These features are fitted to further strengthen the support functions for improving operation rate, fuel-efficient driving and safe driving.

Plateau Takes It To A Higher Level |

Established in 1979, Australian-owned Plateau Food Distributors is one company that is not standing still. As a food service company Plateau supplies products to commercial clients including restaurants, cafes and caterers. Servicing clients in Sydney and the NSW Central Coast, Plateau Food Distributors deals with some big names, such as Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar, Hog's Breath Cafe and Gema Catering.
Plateau Food Distributors opened in a butcher shop at Collaroy Plateau on Sydney's northern beaches and has operated for 18 years, processing meats and shredding cheese for the pizza and bakery trade.
In 1997 the business was purchased by current owners John Smith and Chris Montgomery, who expanded to supply market-leading brands including Devondale, McCains and Patties. Plateau Food Distributors today operates a 'cash and carry' outlet and employs 33 staff.
With their clients' reputations to uphold, as well as their own, it is imperative that Plateau Food Distributors' products are extremely fresh and of a high quality, before and after delivery.
A loyal Isuzu customer for 25 years, the company runs a modern fleet of Isuzu trucks, with 13 NQR 450 models and one FSD 850. The trucks are always on the go, delivering frozen, chilled and dry products.
According to Plateau Food Distributors' Managing Director, John Smith, the Isuzu trucks' insulated van bodies make the vehicles ideal for transporting perishable goods.
"Our delivery trucks are modified and fitted with freezer bodies and refrigeration units to allow for transportation of chilled and frozen products," Mr Smith said.
Plateau Food Distributors has 15 drivers of their Isuzu fleet, so it is important that the trucks are easy to handle and reliable for long delivery runs.
"All of our drivers are very pleased with the performance of the Isuzu trucks," Mr Smith said.
"Our fleet vehicles each cover 40,000 to 60,000 kilometres per year, operating in busy city conditions and in regional areas - they cover a lot of ground."
Mr Smith said that although it's a small vehicle, the Isuzu NQR 450's four cylinder, sixteen valve SiTEC Series II 185 engine makes light work of deliveries.
"The six-speed synchromesh manual trucks are ideal for our fleet's diverse driving conditions," he said.
As the larger truck in the fleet, the FSD 850 features a six cylinder, 24 valve SiTEC Series II 255 engine. The Isuzu four-bag electronically controlled air suspension system helps to meet the needs of heavier deliveries often allocated to this truck. The FSD also features cruise control for highway driving.
Both Isuzu models have advanced safety features including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Anti Skid Regulator (ASR) and driver and passenger airbags.
The Isuzu NQR 450 and FSD 850 both meet the latest government emissions regulations with their Euro IV rating. This also helps to fulfil the environmental standards and expectations of Plateau Food Distributors' clients.
"We always choose Isuzu trucks due to their power, economy, reliability and excellent resale value - Isuzu trucks are really second to none," Mr Smith said.
As a devoted Isuzu customer, Plateau Food Distributors ensures its trucks are given the appropriate care required to uphold a successful fleet.
"We take the Sydney trucks to an Isuzu dealership for their first service, and all of the Central Coast trucks are serviced at Gilbert and Roach Isuzu," Mr Smith said.
In addition, all trucks in the company's fleet are protected by a three year Isuzu warranty.
"We purchase Isuzu Trucks to not only expand the fleet, but also to replace retiring vehicles. The trucks generally have a lifespan of five years before they are resold and replaced with new Isuzu models," Mr Smith said.
In the past 12 months, Plateau Food Distributors has added eight new units to its fleet, with plans to add another three units by the end of 2010, and continue expanding in the foreseeable future.
