How To Make One Hell Of A Profit And Still Get To Heaven
by Dr John F Demartini
My comments:
Flashy title, but solid wisdom.
To those of you out there who are really good with your money, I applaud your knowledge, skill and efforts that it takes to get good at that. Having good teachers on the subject of money is always a great help. I certainly found on in John Demartini.
This is a very practical book about money and all the mysteries that we create about money. John uses common sense and also a unique point of view that will have you finding new ways to relate to the issues of money and how it affects all of our lives.
He teaches you how to grow wealth slowly at first to get the hang of it and then speeding up to a very steady flow. At the same time he is dealing with all of the misconceptions that surround the subject and how to have you in control instead of past thinking and actions.
I found this to be enlightening, exciting and a wealth of good information and I highly recommend it to everyone.
Enjoy!

Book flap info:
Millions of people worldwide dream of making a "good" living, of attaining great wealth, and having an extraordinary and fortunate life. However, they haven't yet found a way of attaining it, and they fear that they can only do so at the expense of others-perhaps by compromising their higher spiritual values and virtuous nature. Some people who outwardly acknowledge their desire for great wealth feel inwardly guilty about acquiring it, and their illusive conflict blocks or dissipates their potential fortunes. Other people say they just want to be comfortable and secure rather than vastly fortunate. These individuals also hold themselves back from breaking through to new levels of freedom, and actually living their most cherished and inspiring dreams. In addition to their conflicting spiritual and material natures, some people have an additional internal struggle between their desires to give and receive.
How to Make One Hell of a Profit and Still Get to Heaven was written to help you (if you happen to be like most people) dissolve these apparent conflicts. It can assist you in making your financial dreams come true while shedding light on an entirely new way of looking at, understanding, and appreciating the true nature of Earthly profits and heavenly wealth. If you read and apply the principles and methodologies that are laid out in these pages, your relationship with, and ability to master, your spiritual wealth and material finances as well as other vital areas of your life will undergo an amazing transformation.

The Leader |
"Leadership is a matter of having people look at you and gain confidence in seeing how you react.
If you're in control, they're in control."
In my travels, I have worked for a good number of business owners, managers, and supervisors who would like to think of themselves as leaders. To me, leader is not a default title for someone who is "the boss," the supervisor, manager, president, owner, CEO, COO, chairman, or any other business title. To me, leadership is an earned title and I have huge respect for those who earn it.
When I saw this quote, immediately my mind went to a number of so-called leaders who did nothing to build confidence and in fact, created the opposite. One that jumped out at me was a successful auto dealer who would go to a "dealer 20" group meeting and come back with "the next great move" toward far grander success. Then, a week or two weeks later, that huge change in procedure had evaporated and things were back to "normal." No confidence in his lack of confidence.
Then, another one popped in my head, where style was always much more important than substance. Style dictated where the money was spent and although it did look good, it was almost useless in so many cases.
Another (actually, several) "leader" would over-react to the most trivial of things and go "flying off the handle" spouting cuss words, accusations, idiotic statements and the like. I've even seen this in front of customers. These people should be restrained, or banished to work in an computerized warehouse in the valley away from any important people, like customers and employees.
What builds confidence in, and elevates a person to the Leader title is not a mistake-free demeanor, but one that inspires others to feel good about themselves and to feel good about the company they are working with. This person is human and will make mistakes. It is impossible to live without them. This person is always looking to build people up that they come in contact with. You don't hear them putting people down. They love people and they know that people is their business. They learn to provide much more value than they extract in attention, energy or expertise. Everyone who works with them or for them, comes away as having been better for the experience. The Leader is respected and wherever this person goes, the title Leader follows them because of who they are as a person, not what they do or where they work or what their other title may or may not be.
I celebrate and lift up the Leaders all over the world. As Seth Godin, in his newly released, and most excellent book, Linchpin, promotes, "The linchpin insists on making a difference, on leading, on connecting with others and doing something I call art. The linchpin is the indispensable one, the one the company can't live without. This is about humanity, not compliance." |

24' Curtain-Side Glass Truck |

MyGlassTruck.com builds quality glass carriers in a wide variety of sizes and uses and here is their 24' Curtain-Side Glass Truck. The Curtain-Side Glass Truck features custom-built, full-length exterior and interior glass carriers inside a 24-foot curtain-side truck body. Rubber padding from top to bottom of vertical posts gives superior glass protection along with the 2-inch wide padding that runs the full length of the horizontal slats.
The durable, one-piece, double-hemmed design curtain material is PVC coated, double-weave polyester and is strong, waterproof and remains pliable in extreme cold or heat. The curtain glides smoothly on ball bearing rollers mounted inside a one-piece aluminum track. The weather-proof "pelmet" protects glass and curtain hardware from the elements. The curtain is reinforced around the wheels and has securement straps every 24 inches with quick-action buckles to ensure that the curtain is smooth and secure when closed.
The glass carriers are constructed with aircraft-grade Huck fasteners that won't crack like welds on aluminum or loosen from vibration like screws or bolts. The vented, bolt-on wheel cover protects curtain and glass from splash back.
Standard is a rear step bumper with anti-skid surface, and the 3/4" thick plymetal rear doors provide walk-in access to interior racks. LED lighting system aids visibility of tail lamps and turn signals.

Sweet "Big Box" Royal Ext Cab |

As I left a package at FedEx, this truck in a nearby parking lot caught my eye. I've seen several "big box" Royal Contractor Bodies, but I hadn't seen a 9' or 10' unit and especially on an extended cab chassis. It jumped right out at me and said, 'here I am!' And a sweet looking rig it is.
I asked the driver who happened to be Michael Ferreira if I could take some shots and he was most gracious and allowed me to share them with you. This is a Chevy 3500HD with the DuraMax diesel in an extended cab with a 10' Royal Tall Box Contractor. I say 'tall box or big box' because the top boxes are closed top lid boxes that are taller and will carry a greater number of tools than the typical open top lid smaller boxes that we are all used to. Michael said the truck has been really good for them, dependable, efficient and quite powerful. He indicated he sure wished he had the fold-down gates in the back, but other than this, he loved the body.
If you happen to be in the area, Ferreira's Landscape Maintenance can be reached at 707-447-9248. Thank you, Michael for the opportunity to show off your great truck! |
576 Chevy Hybrid Pickups For Verizon |

World's Only Hybrid Pickup Provides Unique Environmental Solution for Fleet Customers
DETROIT - As part of the greening of its fleet, Verizon has purchased 576 Chevrolet Silverado Two-Mode Hybrid full-size pickups that deliver the city fuel economy of a four-cylinder sedan. The unique two-mode Silverado blends an internal combustion engine with battery-powered electric motors to offer customers the advanced technology needed to reduce fuel consumption by up to 40 percent over a conventional full-size pickup -- an EPA estimated 21 MPG city and 22 MPG highway, best of any full-size pickup. "When Verizon first approached us about environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles for their urban drivers, we knew the Silverado Hybrid was the perfect fit because of its outstanding city and highway MPG ratings," said Brian Small, GM Fleet and Commercial Operation general manager. "Immediately the team went to work to meet Verizon's ambitious July delivery deadline." GM's two-mode system enables the Silverado to launch and drive up to 30 mph on electricity alone, and allows the Vortec 6.0L V-8 engine to operate in its more economical V-4 mode for longer periods. This technology is the only hybrid system capable of being used in full-size trucks, which further emphasizes Chevrolet's full-size truck leadership. "A major part of our sustainability strategy is to make smart use of lower-carbon alternatives to power our fleet and the operation of our high-IQ broadband networks," said James Gowen, chief sustainability officer for Verizon. "By adding 1,600 alternative energy vehicles to our fleet this year we're conserving fuel, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality in communities across the country." Committed to finding practical and innovative ways to reduce the carbon footprint of its global operations, Verizon launched a comprehensive sustainability program earlier this year. The program expanded the number of alternative energy vehicles in their fleet - one part of a multi-pronged approach. Additionally, in their commitment to doing business with diverse suppliers, the company placed the order for the 576 hybrid pickups, with Fairway Motors, a woman-owned Chevrolet dealership in Hazelton, Penn. The pickups, to be deployed in urban areas in various Verizon's markets, is powered by the standard Vortec 6.0L V8 engine delivering 332 horsepower and 367 lb.-ft of torque, it has a payload of 6,100 lbs. (2WD) or 5,900 lbs. (4x4). The vehicle also comes with an eight-year/100,000 mile limited warranty on hybrid components and a five-year/100,000 transferable powertrain limited warranty. To further capitalize on the Silverado Hybrid's fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, Verizon collaborated with BrandFX Body Company and GM to develop the light-weight fiberglass insert to be installed in the truck's bed. The composite insert, the lightest weatherproof container on the market, will house Verizon's service equipment, such as ladders, wiring, connectors and television set boxes. "We have a long history with Verizon and it's always our pleasure to work with OEMs to provide the most fuel-efficient composite products for automotive applications," said Lee Finley, BrandFX Body Company co-owner. Nice Custom Flatbed By North Bay |

North Bay Truck Body in Cordelia, CA recently delivered one of many units for Irish Construction to the selling dealer, Paul Brown of Larry Geweke Ford in Yuba City, CA. The client has specific needs in their flatbed fleet and Bob Dias at North Bay Truck Body was happy to work with Irish Construction to fulfill their needs. Based on what I saw in this truck, it is a sweet rig and well designed.
The tool boxes were made by Harbor Truck Bodies and it is an open top box on one side and a closed top box on the other. The stainless steel lids is unmistakeable Harbor. The bed even has jack hammer tube holders, and a long list of other "little" features. Considering they do a lot of underground work, that is one of the main tools of their trade.
I see these trucks all over northern California and now Bob Dias will have a chance to show off some of his fine work with Irish Construction. Bob specializes in custom flatbeds, and you can see more of his creations at http://www.nbtb.com/. |
New Plug-n-Play Compressors |
Garner, Iowa - American Eagle Accessories Group announces the availability of plug -n- play compressors. The most popular American Eagle compressors now operate using similar hydraulic flow. This upgrade allows for a quick and easy change-out from one compressor to another that is within the same group. This eliminates the time and expense of changing out PTO's and pumps. To further streamline the change-out process, the mounting base-plates and hydraulic connections are now all common.
The first group of compatible compressors includes the SHD-43AFP and SHD-60AFP. They require 11 gpm. The SRS-40 requires 12 gpm. The second group of compressors includes the SHD-66P, SHD-132P, and SRS-65P. All of these compressors now require 18 gpm.
"The Plug -n- Play feature is another way American Eagle is working to make life better for our customers by reducing change-out time and related costs," says Ivan Dodd, division manager of American Eagle Accessories Group."
American Eagle Accessories Group was founded in 2002 as a division of Stellar Industries, Inc. and quickly became a major supplier of compressors and drawer systems to the work truck market. American Eagle manufactures and distributes truck mounted hydraulic air compressors, heavy-duty drawer sets, and other work truck accessories to the OEM and retail sectors.

SWB 10' Contractor Is Great Combination |

This is a short wheel base (141") 60" cab to axles F350 Ford Chassis with a Carter Industries 10' Contractor Body with the Aluminum Box Package. It also has fold-down, removable gates around the rear, a HD Forklift Loadable Rack, Class IV Receiver. They did an extra tasty touch by adding stainless steel pieces to the top of the rack. Nice.
What's great about this combination to me is that the turning radius is very similar to a plain old 8' pickup truck, yet we have a 10' HD bed that can get a lot of gear to and from the job site. This gives the 60" CA chassis a good deal more maneuverability than the typical 12' Contractor on the 84" CA with a 165" wheelbase. Big difference. These shots were taken some time ago at Razzari Ford in Merced. |
It's A Table. . . It's A Platform. . . It's A. . . |

Here's a great little add-on, build-in accessory. It's a slide-out table; writing table; add some heat and it's a griddle; temporary storage while getting up into the body area; tongue sticking out at you; work platform; craft area. . . well, that's enough. I've made my guesses, let's hear yours. It certainly does look like an interesting tool and I'm sure it has more than one use--maybe even one of my suggestions. However you might use this great sliding tray, shelf, platform, table, tongue, it is a nice idea by Knapheide Manufacturing of Quincy, Illinois and the world. Check out more of their clever tools and accessories at http://www.knapheide.com/. They've only been doing it since 1848, so I'm sure they have drawers full of ideas. |
Drop Steps On Commercial Body |
This is an interesting design for drop steps for are rear step bumper on a commercial truck body. Folded up and pinned when not needed (most of the time), pull the pins and reposition it when needed. I like the grip strut, keep-the-mud-off-the-bumper feature--the non-slip-grip-tread-and-keep-it-clean-at-the-same-time feature. Simple design and simply effective and while they are stored in the up position, there is still center access to the body. It all works. http://www.knapheide.com/. |
Nice Looking Ext Cab Service Body |

Kimberly from Harbor sent these great shots of a job they did for McKenzie Electric and I absolutely love it! The wrap is perfect and I love the combination of colors. Very well done. See more from Harbor Truck Bodies at http://www.htbi.net/. |
