Awaken the Giant Within book

Of the hundreds of books that I have read in my life, this book is in my top 10 easily. For one reason, I just love the title. I do believe that there is a Giant in each one of us that can be encouraged to come to the surface and help us all have a more fulfilled and exciting life personally and in business.

I recently re-read some key sections in the book as I do from time to time to remind myself of the power I have within me. This book--indeed, Anthony's life is all about empowering people and this it does effectively for me.

I got to go to a weekend seminar with Tony Robbins in South San Francisco around 1993-4 and the first part of it was the Firewalk Experience. It was absolutely one of the most powerful experiences I've ever had. Incredible and empowering.

Awaken the Giant Within will teach you how to just change your thinking in small ways and have it make a major difference in your attitude and how you feel.

An example is Tony's Problem Solving Questions, his Morning and Evening Power Questions that get you to focus on solutions, not problems. Changing your Life Metaphors, using the The Emotions of Power and Changing Your Rules have all been helpful for me.

And, all for about $11 bucks. Wow. If you don't already own it, this will be an excellent addition to your success library. I'll send one copy free to the first person to respond via email.
Greetings!

Outstanding Dealer Websites

This is a new spot in the IdeaLetter where we share outstanding dealer commercial websites that we find or are sent to us. Since we also build websites for commercial dealers, we are always looking for those who stand out ahead in website thinking.

This time the spotlight is on:

Sir Walter Business Central Logo

Sir Walter Chevrolet
Raleigh, North Carolina

Welcome to Sir Walter Chevrolet's Business Central website. This is a very good website--in fact, it is among the best that we have found. Here are some features of their website we appreciated:

  • Separate site from retail store with separate domain name: www.sirwaltertrucks.com
  • Easy navigation throughout
  • Two featured vehicles are on the home page with links to more information.
  • Home page is short, sweet and to the point. Nice.
  • Nice online specials page with links for more info.
  • View vehicles page is very clean and easy to use. What a concept.
  • Toll Free phone and address is on every page at eye level. Nice going!
  • Payment estimator is very, very simple and easy to use and opens in a smaller separate window. Best I have seen. No need to complicate this as many do.
  • Contact Us page is very simple and among the best we have seen. Name, email, question. Couldn't be easier!
  • About Us page is my favorite. I always look for photos of sales staff and manager with info (so few have this). Great photos with nice smiles looking good. No suits. Suits in commercial is weird. Email, cell numbers. If someone wants to get hold of you, they have lots of ways on this site. Excellent. Outstanding. Super job.

Now, that being said, here is the real interesting part for me: their retail site is awesome as well.

  • On the home page, there are links to their nice blog, facebook link, other links. Way ahead of the curve. Sweet!
  • Join Newsletter link on home page. Leading the way is Sir Walter Chevrolet! Nice going.
  • Link to the Business Central stays on the retail site, but shows all the commercial people photos and information in a window. This is outstanding.
  • The 360 degree view of parts of the dealership is outstanding. Nice, large store.
  • Mission statement and much more. Check out the Information tab. Very nicely done.
  • On a scale of 1-10, I rate this stores whole web program as a 10. There is more they could and probably will do, but what they have done and are doing is awesome!
  • The only thing I would like to see is the rest of the people. Congrats on the commercial troops, but there aren't any other people here. Humanize it. Your human customers will appreciate it.
  • Check out their retail site at www.sirwalter.com.

Here's what I like best about these sites:

They are working together!! It is rare enough to get very excited about.

I could go on, and I'll let you check it out for yourself. Our hats are off to the Sir Walter Chevrolet team and their vendor, Clicktomize. These websites, blogs and other tools put them on the leading edge. Go Sir Walter!

If you see a dealer commercial truck website that you think is a good one, great one, or outstanding one, please send it on to us. Email address at bottom of page

EBY Aluminum Body Lineup. Sweet!

Always on the hunt for great bodies, body companies, useful products and I just ran across M.H. Eby who has been in business since 1938 and currently has three locations: Blue Ball, PA, Story City, IA and West Jefferson, OH. According to their website, in the early 1970's they pioneered the switch of the complete EBY line of products to aluminum. There's a lot of that going on now, but that was a gutsy move back then.

EBY's complete line consists of horse trailers, livestock trailers, bulk commodities trailers and truck bodies and they are sold throughout the United States and Canada. Of course, at CTS our main interest is truck bodies, and when I saw photos of the bodies shown above, I was very impressed with the look and width of the product line. I'm only showing a few of the photos that are on their nice website at www.mheby.com.

As I was looking through their site, this is the truck that got my attention first:

I've never been a big advocate of single rear wheel flatbed trucks, but when I saw this truck photo, I thought, my that is one gorgeous truck! The body looks dynamite on that uplevel chassis with the aluminum wheels and red paint. Sweet! I love the fold-down sides and the unique headboard design. We need to see some of these babies out here in California. Every one of them look great.

If you're not already familiar with this company, please check out their comprehensive website or call them at 1-800-292-4752 for more information.

Nice to meet you, EBY!
