Enterprise One to One and The One to One Fieldbook by Don Peppers and Martha Rogers
"The only value your company will ever create is the value that comes from customers--the ones you have now and the ones you will have in the future. To remain competitive, you must figure out how to keep your customers longer, grow them into bigger customers, make them more profitable and serve them more efficiently."
--Don Petters and Martha Rogers, Ph.D.
Re: Enterprise One to One -- From the Library Journal: ". . . the authors emphasize the changing state of advertising competition from mass-media strategies to a one-to-one, individual approach."

Great Dealer Websites |
This is a new spot in the IdeaLetter where we share great dealer commercial websites that we find or are sent to us. Since we also build websites for commercial dealers, we are always looking for those who stand out ahead in website thinking.
- Here's things we liked about their site: They chose a great domain name: Schepeltrucks.com.
- On the FRONT PAGE of the site is a picture and phone number and email address of Steve Doty and Dave Hoekstra!! That is huge, guys! Great job. Most sites you can't even find people and here you are on the front page!
- Featured vehicles on the right side of the front page. Nice.
- Nice header photo changing regularly.
- Smooth front page design and great tab design.
- When you click on the Body Upfits tab and click on inventory, you get a number of photos showing they type of body people might be looking for and when you find one you like such as service bodies or cargo vans, you click on the photo and it takes you to the inventory. Very nice. I'll have to borrow that idea.
- I love the Why Buy Here tab. Short and sweet. Why else? We're number one!
- Phone number is on every page prominently displayed at the top of the page.
There are a few things that can use some work too, but overall, this is an excellent site and the really important things are there. Great job Schepel GMC!

Cargo Access Bed Rollers |
What a difference a cargo access bed roller will make! They make them for pickups, cargo vans, even SUV's. Such a simple idea, and such huge value!
Top photo is from a company called Bedslide. They make this in a light duty and a contractor grade for heavier loads.
Middle photo is from Extendo Bed Co. They have applications for service bodies as shown in the photo and also for vans, SUV's, pickups, small SUV's and more.
The third photo is a Roll-A-Bed from Aerostar Systems, Inc. They have a patented No-Drill installation that is an industry exclusive. | |
Knapheide KUV Leadership! |

I was told that Knapheide was the world leader in production of the enclosed service body which they call the K.U.V. This body is traditionally mounted on the cutaway van chassis on single rear and dual rear wheel models. The model in the photos above is the KUVcc which they make for the conventional cab. This type of body is becoming more common on the dual rear wheel conventional cab chassis, especially the 84" CA, but it is not seen regularly on the single rear wheel chassis such as the Ford F34 in the photos.
These shots were captured at Newberg Ford in Newberg, Oregon in October. This unit was in stock on the front line. Dale Sykes is the Commercial Manager and my hat is off to him because he had an awesome mix of interesting product and I appreciate his bold vision. It was a joy wandering through his inventory choices.
This is the first single rear with this height that I have seen. I congratulate Knapheide for doing such a great job on this. I think this is a perfect service body for a single rear wheel chassis. I love the upper doors that open to the inside of the body, the dual rear access panels, the ladder rack and conduit box adds a great deal to the usefulness as well. The spare tire is mounted inside out of the way and the inside has a heavy duty coating.
This is a wonderful unit and as the word gets out that it is available on this kind of chassis, I'm sure we will see more and more of them. Check out Knapheide's great website at www.knapheide.com. |
