 Customers For Life book

Customers For Life: How To Turn That One-Time Buyer Into A Lifetime Customer by Carl Sewell and Paul B Brown. I highly recommend this book for those who have not had the opportunity. The thoughts and actions in the book are timeless.

Here's what others have said: "There is not a single page without an instructive lesson for managers striving to achieve competitive advantage through service. It is truly a gem!" - Professor Leonard A Schlesinger, Harvard Business School. "The book of the year. . .sewell's approach to service will work equally well for companies big and small. I encourage you to dig in, chuckle, ponder--and take action now." - Tom Peters

Jomac Tire Service Truck - A Beauty!

Here is something different for you. This is the Tire Service Truck manufactured by Jomac, Ltd of Carrollton, Ohio. They build a nice selection of aluminum bodies including mechanics bodies, utility bodies, delivery, propane service, tire service and custom bodies. In addition, they manufacture a great selection of articulating and telescopic cranes.

When I look at the photos of the tire service body above, I think of tire service opportunities, of course, but more than that, I am always looking at how this body can serve a larger group of clients. I can see a lot of different clients using this great body! It is made of lightweight aluminum, so it has great capacity, yet with their aluminum extruded plank flooring system, it becomes one of the strongest floors in the industry.

Check out this and their other great offerings at their website: www.jomacltd.com, or better yet, give them a call at 800-755-4488 or

Especially in today's challenging market, it is a very good idea to create flexibility for your commercial customers. Of course, that helps you make sales when you may not otherwise as well. A double bonus! Here are some great ideas from A.R.E. Check out the top photo with the double BedSlider setup! Very nice!

As a commercial truck dealer, I would be stocking a selection of this kind of product to demonstrate less expensive and more fuel efficient alternatives. This won't replace my full size utility and contractor bodies, but it will give me the flexibility I need to maintain sales and profits in this market, while creating new customers for the dealership. Having them already on the lot upfitted will make all the difference.

For most of these products, a half ton or compact pickup will do the job just fine. Short bed, long bed, cab high or above cab, there is incredible flexibility in the shells that are on the market to help a wide variety of customers. In addition, A.R.E. DCU shells offer a long list of options including the extremely useful BedSlider, optional heights, roof racks, rear doors, and much more.

Call your local A.R.E. dealer, or our buddy, Kevin Snedeker of Vaca Valley Truck and SUV at 707-447-9905. To find a local dealer, go to the A.R.E. website at www.4are.com.
