| Attention-Associate Members deadline for reimbursement approaches
IIDA Associate Members who sat for and passed the NCIDQ exam in October. A reminder that the deadline to apply for consideration for tuition reimbursement is Friday, January 30, 2009. This is an incredible member benefit, you should take advantage of this opportunity.
Only IIDA Associate Members in good standing are eligible to participate. Members who have taken and passed the exam administered in October, 2008 may request consideration for reimbursement.
Upon receipt of complete documentation, the IIDA Member's request will be placed with all others received by the stated deadline. The Foundation will award financial assistance to 5 (five) IIDA Members. The process for determining the recipients will be a lottery system. Members who have been selected will be notified in February 2009.

| Holiday Party Highlights.....were you there?

The New Orleans City Center Holiday Party was held at AOS on Thursday December 4, 2008. The event had a wonderful turn out with over 70 people. Sponsors were AOS, Marlite, Associated Architectural Products, Knoll, InterfaceFLOR and Curtis Stout.

The Lafayette City Center Holiday Party was a fun and well attended cocktail party at Art Gallerie 912 in the Oil Center. It was held on Wednesday December 10, 2008. Sponsors were Heather and Byron Trosclair with IDI, Ginger Pike, Lacy LaMartina and Greg Tant with The Mohawk Group and Connie Bandera with BPI.
The Baton Rouge City Center Directors would like to thank Louisiana Office Supply for hosting and sponsoring all the delicious food & drinks for our annual IIDA Holiday Party held on December 3, 2008! Thank you immensely for allowing us to utilize your beautiful Showroom! We sincerely thank everyone at LOS for their hard work and for making the party sparkle.
The Mississippi City Center Holiday Party was held at the lovely home of Charles Hooker of Offisource. It was held on Thursday December 11, 2008. It even snowed for the occasion to get everyone in the festive Holiday spirit.

NEW FORUMS ADDED
INSTITUTIONAL FORUM
The Institutional Forum enhances the quality, health and welfare of interior design in facilities which represent an established organization of public character. These project types can include schools, colleges or universities, museums, libraries, recreational areas, family service centers and religious facilities (that are not represented by the government). A key project of this forum will be the biannual Library Interiors Awards in partnership with the American Library Association.
KNOWLEDGE FORUM
The knowledge Forum advances the interior design profession by promoting education, awareness and the value of good design through excellence in undergraduate, graduate, continuing education and professional development initiatives. Educators and researchers are encouraged to consider this forum their home. The IIDA Knowledge Center will be a key partner to this forum's work.

reminder professional deadline is January 14th
If you are a professional interested in hosting a pair of students in your office during the week of February 2-6, 2009 please complete and return the mentor registration form.
Mentor registration forms are due no later than January 14, 2009. IIDA will confirm your mentoring assignment by January 21, 2009.

3 WAYS to Renew your IIDA designer membership quickly and securely: - Renew online at www.iida.org. Log in and click on Renew Dues. - Enroll in a payment plan by calling toll free 888.799.IIDA. - Mail the printed invoice to IIDA Headquarters with a check (please note the new lockbox address listed above).
With your renewal you will have the opportunity to contribute to the IIDA Foundation's Designing for the Future Campaign (tax deductible) and the IIDA Legislative Grant Program.
The 2008 Foundation's Designing for the Future Campaign will be directed to providing the Association with ongoing financial support in the further development and implementation of an IIDA-branded NCIDQ study course for IIDA Members.
The Legislative Grant Program is used to directly support Chapters working to promote the highest standards in interior design through legislation.
HELPFUL THINGS TO KNOW:
This is peak time for new applications and renewals; allow IIDA a little longer to process...HQ recommends that renewals be placed on IIDA's website and are strongly encouraging new apps to include all docs and payment for faster processing.
The payment plan is available and members are asked to contact HQ for this form (it will not be accessible on the website). 6 credit card installments that must be paid by August and there is $25 service fee.
Also please note that IIDA has changed the lockbox address for check deposits to: 2424 Momentum Place, Chicago, IL 60689-5324. It is imperative that you notify your accounting department of this new address to avoid delays in processing your 2009 renewal payment.

We just found out that we have a brick paver at the LaHouse Project in Baton Rouge, LA. It is inscribed with "IIDA Delta Chapter" and has been installed on the scenic landscape trail somewhere on the seven acre site.
