Greetings!

As students of Truth, even though we know that we need to leave beliefs of victimhood behind, the evidence of our lives may seem to present very clear, irrefutable proof that we are indeed victims. The work before us is to make the shift from victim-consciousness to Truth-consciousness.

A good first step is imagine viewing the situation from the perspective of a hidden camera. A camera has no vested interest in maintaining the status quo. A camera has no cultural bias, prejudice, or embedded theology. Sometimes, an error present in our thinking is revealed when we realize that we have filled in the gaps and blank spaces with words that were never actually spoken, or events that never really took place. Our ego wants everything to make sense. When things do not make sense, it fills in the blank spaces with things that never really happened. If we are living our life from a belief that those "added" details are true, we are navigating with a faulty road map.

But, what if... you really were attacked by someone? What if... you really did lose your job over something that someone else did or didn't do? What if... you really were molested? What if... that jealous boyfriend really did beat you? Had a camera been present, it would have recorded the facts exactly as you remember them.

Willingness to pursue Truth at this moment will be the most useful tool in your entire spiritual toolbox. The normal and reasonable human reaction is to feel even more justified in holding onto your identity as a victim. After all, the camera exercise just "proved" that you were indeed victimized. At this moment, the ability to say, "Nevertheless, I am willing to heal this situation" is the mustard seed of faith that will ultimately allow you to move the mountain of negativity holding you in bondage.

If at any point you find yourself questioning, "Why...?", you must remain steadfast in your willingness to move forward, even without a satisfactory answer. Our ego actually does perform useful and important work, and one of the things it does best is navigate from point A to point B in response to reason and logic. Sometimes in our human experience of life there is no reason or logic. Requiring ourselves to make sense of something that makes no sense is simply surrendering to yet another form of victimhood. Whatever happened, happened. You cannot change the past. You can, however, change the future by how you choose - from this moment forward - to view the past.

It is always good to claim Light. Whatever this dark thing is, it cannot remain dark if you are willing to allow in the Light. You have believed yourself to be a victim. The Bible story of the now-successful and powerful Joseph encountering his very fearful brothers (who had earlier sold him into slavery after contemplating murdering him) is useful: rather than extracting revenge, he simply told his brothers, "You may have meant to harm me, but God [aka Truth] allows me to know that your actions benefitted me." Having been willing to proceed, you have claimed the power of Light over the illusion of darkness, and you have now made the choice to claim Good from this experience. Be thankful for your willingness, strength, faith, and wisdom!

Claiming Good from the circumstances that previously represented our victimhood does not mean that we "chose" those circumstances, or that "God had a plan" which required us to be hurt. Once again- whatever happened, happened, and it is your choice in this moment how to proceed. One blessing that we can claim from any type of hurtful experience is compassion. All around the world, throughout the history of humankind, others have shared this pain. You can choose to be a Light that lessens that pain. You have experienced it, you know how much it hurts, you have declared your willingness to move beyond it, and you can claim the intention to move forward in peace. You can know the vision of peace for all who have known that pain. You can be one who transforms that source of suffering. When you live in peace, others benefit. When you let go of anger, human consciousness is less angry. When you release blame, human consciousness is less weighed down by blame. When you allow Light to replace darkness, humankind is Lighter. When you give this Good in exchange for the pain you suffered, you have done the work of True forgiveness. Once again, be thankful.

This is important work. On behalf of the Oneness That We Are, I thank you and appreciate you for your willingness to show up and participate in the work of transformation. If you'd like to really dig into Truth principles and how to implement them into your life, consider attending one of the

COMMUNITY OUTREACH COMMITTEE

An update from our Outreach Director, Susan Smith

During the month of July the Community Outreach Committee is sponsoring a donation drive for Casa de los Ninos. Casa de los Niņos is best-known as a crisis shelter, and their Tucson on-site residence for abused and neglected children is the heartbeat of the organization. On any given day, 25 to 45 kids will wake up at Casa de los Niņos. It is more than a warm and loving home. Children in the shelter also receive physicals, around-the-clock medical care, and assessments that will help Case Managers develop an appropriate case plan for every child. While the shelter is at the core of their program, they also offer a variety of programs designed to prevent child abuse and to care for kids who have already been abused.

Their most-needed items at this time are: summer clothing, sizes 2t through 6, summer toys, and craft supplies. Please bring donations in by 7/29/2012. Thank you!

For more information about this wonderful organization and the services they provide to our community please visit their website.
