Change

Greetings!

Spring is a time of growth and renewal. We've just completed the journey through Lent, and celebrated Jesus' great demonstration as he showed us what is possible when we believe in the infinite power of transformation through the Christ within each of us. Now that Easter is over, our work is to continue to grow and evolve, to continue to live in ever more awareness of the Christ that we are.

When we declare an intention of change, we sometimes find that its easier to declare that intention than it is to actually make the changes that we need to make. When we find ourselves in that state, we are in quite good company. Jesus, through his comments to the disciple Peter, acknowledges that, "the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." (MT 26:41)

St. Paul shares this observation about himself:  "I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do.

Romans (7:18-19)

In the coming weeks, we'll continue looking at positive actions we can take that will help us to actually follow through on our intentions of change, and to bring about real transformation in our lives. For now, we can open our hearts and our minds, continue to listen to the "still, small, voice", and place one foot in front of the other, one day after the other, and do what is ours to do.

C -  Cooperate. Remain willing.

H -  Heed the guidance within.

A -  Allow what is no longer useful to fall away.

N -  Non-resistance. That which we resist, persists...

G -  Grace is always available. Open your heart to It.

E -  Enough. As in, you are enough. Right here and right now, you are enough.

This week, keep yours eyes, ears, and heart open to opportunities to live your intention. We are surrounded by opportunities to reinforce our highest and best possible actions. Once again, remember that transformation does not always require a grand gesture. Each moment is another moment to remember your intention, and each step you take is proof of your willingness to cooperate with Oneness.

SEE Class, "The Christ in the Bible"

Nita facilitates an exploration of the Christ idea as it relates to Jesus, and to each of us. We'll look at what "The Christ" idea is, where it came from, what it meant to the people of Jesus' time, and what it means to us.

If you've resisted the Bible in the past, you are encouraged to take a deep breath, open your mind and heart, and be willing to begin discovering the gifts contained in the Bible.

This is a required class for those on the path to credentialing as Unity leaders. There is never a fee for SEE classes at Unity Church of Peace - love offerings will be accepted. If taken for credit, there is a $36.00 Unity Institute registration fee.

Our text will be the Bible; we prefer the NRSV version, and if you don't have a copy... we'll give you one at no charge!

Classes are held Wednesdays, 10:30 - 12:30pm or 6:30 - 8:30pm.

"Filling the God Shaped Hole", an evening with Rev. Michael Brooks

Rev. BrooksCome and enjoy an evening of spirit, humor and wit as Michael shares what it takes to leave the past behind and move into the ever-present unquenchable NOW!

Michael is an ordained Unity minister and the spiritual leader of Unity of the White Mountains in Pinetop/Lakeside Arizona. He is approaching 25 years in 12-step recovery and knows the addictive mind intimately. He began practicing meditation at the age of 17 and will admit he is no closer to cosmic consciousness now then he was then. He has however, learned to enjoy the journey and wants to share with you how he filled the God shaped hole so that you might fill yours.

No tickets are necessary - a love offering will be accepted.

Thank you!

Whether you realize it or not, you are an important part of this ministry. Since we are not separate, the choices you make affect the rest of us, just as the choices we make affect you. Every time that you choose to invest your energy in the direction of Spirit, the evolutionary progress of our journey is enhanced. Whether you attend church regularly, or not at all, whether you tithe regularly, or not at all, whether you know Unity teachings intimately, or not at all, you are crucial to the well-being of the Whole. What you do matters.

Jesus was one person, doing what he was called to do, living the Truth that he knew. Myrtle Fillmore was one person, living the Truth that she knew. Charles Fillmore was one person, living the Truth that he knew. We are never called to do anything that we cannot do, and the very most important thing that we can each do is live the Truth that we know.

The Truth that I know is that we are not separate. We DO affect each other, and every time that you live the Truth that you know, we all benefit.  Thank you for your willingness to live your Truth.

As always, if you have questions or comments, please just hit the reply button. Your responses will come directly to me, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Blessings...
Nita
