Sofame Technologies to Supply Patented, Energy Boosting Technology to a Major Hospital Renovation Project in New Jersey

Montreal, May 13, 2009 - Through Tozour Energy Systems, Inc. a full-service HVAC and building automation provider, Sofame Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: SDW), a leading manufacturer of direct-contact heat recovery equipment, will deliver turn-key the solution needed to bring the boiler plant at the hospital campus in Trenton, N.J. up to the highest standards of energy efficiency.

With the installation of the Sofame steam pump in its boiler plant, the hospital will increase current energy efficiency by 25 per cent while reducing the annual rate of greenhouse gas emissions by 1,276 tons of CO2. The newest addition to the company's product offering, the Sofame Steam Pump is a direct contact stack economizer which can be added to an existing boiler to greatly improve efficiency and lower NOx and CO2 emissions. It solves a problem commonly encountered in power plants where there is no heat sink that can absorb all the heat recovered from the boilers' stacks.

According to Michel Brisson, President and CEO of Sofame Technologies Inc., "Sofame has considerable experience in the hospital/health care sector. In fact, as long ago as 1992, Sofame equipment was used to bring Montreal's Sacré Coeur Hospital up to modern day standards of energy performance. Sofame is proud to work with Tozour Energy Systems on this major hospital facilities upgrade."
