David Gottfried, USGBC Founder (LEED) and CEO of Regenerative Ventures is retained by Sofame

MONTREAL, March 26, 2009 - Sofame Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: SDW), a leading manufacturer of energy efficient commercial-industrial hot water heating and waste heat recovery equipment, has signed a strategic retainer relationship with David Gottfried, CEO of Regenerative Ventures and founder of the U.S. and World Green Building Councils. The USGBC is the creator of LEED Building Standards.

Through his company, Regenerative Ventures, Gottfried selectively assists a handful of leading greentech companies to help build their businesses and also increase public awareness of their innovative green products. The LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building certification system is a certification program that awards buildings points for satisfying LEED green building criteria in six major environmental categories.

U.S. federal agencies, state and local governments, and forward-thinking private companies have adopted the LEED standards for their new building construction and renovation projects. Incentives for designing and achieving LEED are offered at the state and local levels.

Sofame Technologies has been custom-engineering and manufacturing ultra efficient industrial heating solutions for twenty-five years.  Its products have slashed heating costs in district heating plants operated by cities and by universities, in boiler rooms of large buildings such as hospitals, hotels, and airports, and also in industrial plants including food processing, pulp & paper, LNG terminals, power generation, cement, breweries and recycling.  In short, anywhere there is a boiler plant, or a heating plant retrofit possibility, Sofame can design and install a system to cut fuel costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute towards earning LEED points for building projects.

John Gocek, President & CEO of Sofame said, "Sofame is excited about working with Regenerative Ventures and David Gottfried to assist in building our company and its offerings.  Architects, engineers and building owners need to hear about what Sofame's engineered systems have achieved, and what we can do right now to reduce costs, while saving the environment."

David Gottfried said, "Our North American power plants and boiler rooms are generally inefficient.  Sofame's products can significantly contribute towards greater efficiencies and cost savings, resulting in reduction of carbon dioxide as well. I'm excited to be assisting Sofame."
