Pulmonary Hypertension in Scleroderma

A new study will investigate how pulmonary hypertension affects scleroderma patients. The multicenter PHAROS registry (Pulmonary Hypertension Assessment and Recognition of Outcomes in Scleroderma) prospectively follows subjects with scleroderma at high risk for or with pulmonary hypertension (PH). It is the largest U.S. and Canadian study of scleroderma patient at high risk for or with incident PH.

Medication-Induced Dry Mouth

Dentists and pharmacists are working together to educate patients about medication-induced dry mouth. More than 500 medications can contribute to oral dryness, including antihistamines (for allergy or asthma), antihypertensive medications (for blood pressure), decongestants, pain medications, diuretics and antidepressants.
