The Center For Progressive Christianity Store |
Greetings!
In our continuing effort to provide the best resources for
you and/or your church's progressive Christian journey, we have expanded the
TCPC store. Over the next year you will see many additions and changes as we
create and discover more and more exciting materials for your spiritual growth.
"Progressive" is first and foremost about growth and change and we know that
this can happen best if we have high quality resources for our education and
guidance and maybe most importantly for our conversations. We will normally
feature exceptional items in our store that may not be written by the well
known authors and are therefore not getting a lot of press. We have limited
space so we will be changing those books frequently. At times we will try and offer
them at special discounts if we can make appropriate arrangements with the
publisher. We will still review the better known books and they can be ordered
through Amazon.com on our site.
By purchasing books, music, and DVDs from our store you are
also supporting TCPC and its mission to promote the movement of progressive
Christianity. I am certain that you can find something to add to your library,
to send to a friend or to carry proudly. You may want to check out some of the
items on sale this month. Be sure and check back for other sales in the future. Thank you for your support and for shopping at TCPC.

The Emerging Church By: Bruce Sanguin
This book presents the biological principle of emergence and applies it
to culture shifting in congregations. The universe knows how to do life
from the inside-out. By moving away from cultures of command and
control to a more natural organic model, congregations discover the key
to their power and the secret to sustained vitality.
The book provides the theological basis for making this shift as well
some very pragmatic steps to help your congregation come alive in
Christ.

Fusion Fable CD
This CD is perfect for soul-searchers, inspiration seekers, and music
lovers. It is progressive, spiritual, and love-filled. Music is a
language that connects listeners to their past, the present, and
perhaps, with the right amount of percussion, the timely pluck of a
violin, and haunting crescendo of an ethereal voice, music can weave
intricate gold harmonies into our future, at least good music does.
Fusion Fable's music can. It's been tested, over wine, with tears, on
trail runs, played for friends who have lost a moment to a taxing day
and it's been proven, Fusion Fable works. It's music that saves us from
our normal slumber. It's music that fills our fantastic images. |

By Jack Good.
The conflict between an academic and a popular version of Christianity
is the divide which exists between the clergy and the laity. It is the

The Phoenix Affirmations, a New Vision for the Future of Christianity
By: Eric Elnes
The Phoenix Affirmations, named for the town in which they were created
and the mythological bird adopted by ancient Christians as a symbol of
resurrection, offers disillusioned and spiritually homeless Christians,
and others, a sense of hope and a tolerant, joyful, and compassionate
message.
Built on the three great loves that the Bible reveals, love of God,
love of neighbor, and love of self, these twelve affirmations reflect
commitments to environmental stewardship, social justice, and artistic
expressions as well as openness to other faiths.

The Christian Pluralist; an invitation from the pew
By: William C. Buffie and John R. Charles
When Southport United Methodist Church in Indianapolis began promoting
The Purpose Driven Life, two men in the pews discovered a purpose for
themselves that Rick Warren didn't recommend. Warren's facile certitude
about faith did not ring true with their own experience and
understanding. So they took matters into their own hands and wrote a
book that offered an alternative perspective on Christianity. |

Darwin, Divinity, and the Dance of the Cosmos
By: Bruce Sanguine.

."This book is not just for Earth Day, it is for
every day. It is not just about ecology, it is about cosmology; it is
not just about technology it is about theology; it is not just about a
theological shift and it about a reality check; it not just about what
we ought to do, it is about an incredible opportunity for something we
can do-help the human race actually evolve and maybe save our planet at
the same time."

Open Christianity, Home by Another Road By: Jim Burklo

An
invitation to keep the faith but drop the dogma. Many
Christian-heritage seekers struggle with conflicted yearning. They
value much that the tradition offers. But the church door feels closed
unless they accept beliefs at odds with logic and the truth of their
hearts. "Open Christianity" maintains that yes, you can leave behind
that which has ceased to make sense, and still be very Christian.
