A great year of Pittsburgh cyclists!

- Nearly 1,100 Card-carrying members! A 68% increase from last December
- 7 Miles of new bike lanes and shared lane markings, with more planned for next year
- 200 new bike racks equating 400 new bike parking spaces in business districts
- 30,000 Pittsburgh Bike Maps printed and distributed
- 5,000 Bike Commuting 101 Guides printed and distributed (with more to come)
- 10 days featuring over 40 events in our 5th BikeFest
- 8 Car Free Fridays events reaching hundreds of people throughout the city on the joys of active transportation
- Ranked 10th Best City for Walking by Prevention Magazine - reason cited? The City's hiring of a Bike/Ped Coordinator, a BikePGH initiative
- Over 50 mentions and interviews by the media including newspapers, blogs, TV, and radio
- Good Magazine ranked Pittsburgh one of 7 Best Burgeoning Bike Scenes in North America
- Met with dozens of local, state, and national leadersto talk about cycling and livable streets issues
- 249,894 visits to our website by 130,841 unique visitors
- Hundreds of letters and emails sent to decision makers
- Countless hours in meetings, giving a voice to cyclists and raising our profile

200 Bike racks begin to populate City streets
|

Bike rack request form on City's website
The City of Pittsburgh's brand new bike rack request program
is bearing fruit. 200 bike racks are to be installed in city business
districts and in front of small businesses. BikePGH secured funding
for 100 racks, then donated them to the City of Pittsburgh who matched
the racks with another 100 through the Mayor's Taking Care of Business
Districts program.
The City has provided an online request form on their website where business owners can request bike racks for their cycling customers and employees.
