Ride and we'll valet park your bike and watch it free of charge! Art All Night

Art All Night Lawrenceville is one of Pittsburgh's most popular and populist arts events.

This year the organizers are making a conscious effort to reduce the overall carbon footprint of the event by encouraging people to walk, bike, take public transit, or carpool. Bike Pittsburgh is providing a bike valet service (think of it as a coat check, but for bikes) so that you don't have to worry about your ride while you enjoy the art and music. Wondering about your carbon footprint as it relates to getting around? Click here to estimate yours.

Here are some other interesting facts:
» approximately 20 lbs of CO2 is released for every gallon of gas burned. (Source: EPA)

» 40% of all trips taken in urban areas in the U.S. are two miles or less. 89% are taken by motorized vehicle. (Source: Nationwide Personal Transportation Survey)

» Up to 80% of all pollution from cars happens in the first few minutes during the "cold start" phase while the car is warming up. Another reason to walk or take a bike for short trips! (Source: EPA)
