BikeFest '07 Kicks Off This Friday
|
|
Get ready to ride!
 BikeFest '07 kicks off in just a couple of days! Take a look at our Event Calendar below, online, or pick a printed copy up at our party on Friday. There are a ton of events this year ranging from kids rides, to alley cat races, to movies. Take a look at the calendar and make it a point to participate. BikeFest is all about having fun and raising awareness of bicycling!

Please Become a Member
BikeFest isn't your typical everyday fundraiser. It's more of a Membership Drive ala NPR. We're working with friendly volunteers and organizations to bring you tons of fun biking events, most of which are completely FREE! We're asking that if you like what we're doing that you please give back and become a member. You will join hundreds of other fun, interesting, and active people who are helping build the local cycling community and speak up for better bicycle facilities in Pittsburgh!

We know not everyone has time to organize or participate in events, but many of you want to contribute in some way. You can do so by donating to help us run this fantastic event. Don't miss one of the best parties in Pittsburgh! This year we're going to feature a Silent Auction whith lots of great stuff donated by companies, organizations, and individuals including Trek of Pittsburgh, Three Rivers Rowing Association, D's SixPax & Dogz, Eyetique, and more! Entertainment being provided by DJs Edgar Um and Mary Mack Performance by The New AlcindorsFood and beer provided by Whole Foods and East End Brewing

June 30th at REI - A giant bicycle fleamarket
Do you have a pile of bike parts lying in a box under your bed?
Willing to part with one of your many bikes? Or just looking to find
some bargains?
Check out the Bike Swap on June 30th in the parking lot behind REI in the SouthSide Works.
Everyone is welcome to attend, shop, and trade at this giant fleamarket for all things cycling!
This
year's event will coincide with the Rails to Trails Conservancy's
Greenway Sojourn and REI's ever popular Garage Sale, so there will be
tons of folks there.
Bike Pittsburgh will be raffling off a Fuji Touring bike at the end of the Swap (retail price $900), so stop by our table and pick up some tickets. All proceeds benefit Bike Pittsburgh.
Individual Vendors:
Selling space this year is FREE to individuals. You just need to bring
your own display materials (table, pop-up tent, etc) and/or stuff to
sell/trade/barter with).

You've heard of Drive-Ins, well how about a Bike-In?
Come join us for a free outdoor screening of the award-wining, feature length animated film, Triplets of Belleville.
Synopsis: When her grandson is kidnapped during the Tour de France, Madame Souza and her beloved pooch, Bruno, team up with the Belleville Sisters - an aged song-and-dance team from the days of Fred Astaire - to rescue him.
