Summer ? 2009 Recap
Well, I know it didn't seem like summer until September, but we all tried to think positively anyway!
Summer found us catering for old and new friends.
We had a great time planning menus and venues and even costumes! We were constantly challenged and according to our clients, the results exceeded expectations!
The garden was blooming, but due to the chilly weather, not so well attended by outside diners.
We lost Edith Gilbert at the inspiring age of 92! The Grande Dame of Charlevoix has passed on and left a legacy and many, many saddened friends.
We catered joyous affairs too, weddings and family celebrations, birthdays and anniversaries!
I was even invited to cook at a Guest Chef Dinner at the Bay Harbor Yacht Club. It was great networking with all of the other chefs and cooks!

Sad News for Us.
After over five years of a year round presence, The Pellston Market is going to try being a seasonal business only.
With the trying economy and our challenging location we are just not able to sustain the continued losses that come with a year round operation.
I plan to close on November 1st. until the 1st of May. The future of the Dinner at the Market series is up in the air. I will keep you informed by email.
My heart goes out to my staff who have worked tirelessly for the success of The Market. They are a fantastic team and I don't want to lose any of them, but I understand that their financial lives will have to take precedence over anything else.
I am feeling so sad that I can't be here to serve you, our devoted clients! It has hurt me to be closed two days a week this year, but I have had to experiment with ways to economize. I just wanted you to know that each time someone drove all the way to our shop and found it closed was terrible for me.
Hopefully things will improve in the future and we can go back to serving you year round, until then I deeply apologize and hope for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Nancy J. Kelly |
